GuestReady - Casa da Alma in Alfama

We spent a week in the flat. Quite a good location in my opinion, it's not in the centre of Lisbon next to the most important attractions, however it's less than 10 minutes walk to get to the tram line 28 stop, Santa Apolonia train station for a quick transfer to any location. Plenty of restaurants and shops in the area. Flat equipped with all the necessary accessories and household appliances. Wifi worked smoothly without interruption. Comfortable bed in the bedroom, available folding bed in the living room.

The flat feels very humid - towels and laundered items hardly dry, the only option is to hang them up on the terrace or outside the window. There are some defects in the flat that I think the owners could remove for the safety and comfort of their guests: the electrical sockets falling out (they are simply of the wrong type, so they do not stay in the added wall), the leaking heating cooker - this defect has already been pointed out by several guests. The hoover available in the flat is covered with sticky tape and generally does not work as it should. The entrance to the flat is very narrow and steep, going down with a pram was difficult but not impossible. The floor below has very noisy neighbours - for two days we had to listen to their music late into the night, until 2 - 3am they talk very loudly and slam doors, if you are the light sleeper type you will not sleep most of the night. Unfortunately the old building construction only compounds this problem. In addition, an important note: a very large renovation has started on the floor above - throughout our stay from 8 - 9am we could hear hammer drills, hammers, workmen, it did not look like a home improvement. that will last for a short time. I also lacked prepared bedding or at least towels for the child who was travelling with us.

Good location, good value for money

Paper thin walls . Even walking is heard from neighbors and other rooms. Not too clean and a lot of humidity and musty smell.

Very old building, not possible to cook and do something else in one time - electricity does not work. House is really smelly.

Cosy apartment with facilities like home. The host is very helpful to accommodate our Kate check out needs.

A bit far from sightseeing points

Good location, close to many tour attractions . The place is not big but has a sun terrace which helped a lot .

- bathroom is very small, no place to put any personal toiletries. - very unfortunate that below tenants were very loud and noisy but host did try to make things more comfortable.

Superbly designed apartment in a tenement house with a typical Lisbon vibe. Nice and quiet with cosy terrace. A great place to relax after a day of sightseeing of Lisbon. Good internet connection. Great place for a few days. I definitely recommend it.

The apartment is very charming and has everything you need including the washing machine! It is small but very well designed. The terrace is incredible and I can’t wait to return!

Great terrace, it was cozy but very functional!

It’s hard to say, we stayed over a heat wave and was hot we had fan but no ac.

There was a misunderstanding between the host and Rosa, the lady who lives at the ground floor, about our reservation. She was very helpful and told me to let the luggage between the time she will figure it out with the hosts, and that we should not have any worries for the first night. After less then 2 hours, everything was fine and Roberto was really kind ! He explained everything to us and we were then able to enjoy our stay there. The terrasse is huge and beautiful and the bed is amazing ! We slept amazingly there :) Also, it is really well located in the Alfama. If needed, Rosa and Roberto are very nice and available in case of questions.

The wifi was not working but it was fine, as we did not stay a lot in the apartment.

This apartment is perfectly located in the beautiful Alfama area. It is very close to the city centre but still in a very quite place with some restaurants and a nice coffee shop around the corner with a beautiful view to the sea. This apartment provides you with everything you need for 2 people and a big bonus is the huge terrasse where you can have a nice breakfast while listening to the birds in nature. You don't really feel like you're in the capital of Portugal when you sit there. You can reach the next metro station within a 5 minute walk and the city centre in about 20 mins walking or by taking 2 metro stations. I can highly recommend this place when you're planning a city trip to Lisbon where you also want to relax a little.

The only thing that was very unfortunate was the temperature in this apartment. When you plan to visit between October and March you should definitely bring some warm clothes for inside. There is a small electric heater which can heat up one room but for the whole apartment it is not warm enough. This is probably not gonna be a problem when you visit this place in summer. And you cannot use too much electricity in this apartment. For example when you want to use the heater and have a warm shower the power will turn off. Keep this in mind, but the rest was absolutely fine.
