Very nice apartment at a central yet quiet place!

Nice apartment in the historic center of Alfama. The location is great: you have a lot of restaurants and cafes around and can easily reach the city center by foot, also there is train station nearby. It was pleasure to meet Thomas, who explained us everything about the apartment and the surroundings. There's everything you might need in the apartment. Despite some other review regarding the smell in the kitchen, we haven't experienced it. It's pretty quiet in the night and the window shutters also make it comfortable to sleep.

The small things that could be improved: squeaking bad frame; add some hooks in the bathroom to hang the towels. Even though Thomas warned us about the old building and that you can hear the neighbors, there was one who had his alarm set up from 5 in the morning until 6, snoozing every 10 minutes and this waked up us every morning. There's is no option for the late check-ins.

Very friendly and helpful host, who was kind and flexible enough to come earlier to the apartment and allow me to leave the luggage before the check-in, while providing a lot of inforamtion and tips on the city. The apartment itself is large, comfortable and colourful. It is conveniently located close to a metro and train station - and in a very charming neighbourhood of the city.

There is no air conditioning, although it was not a problem in my case because I was lucky and visited on during a spell of very fresh summer days. The road and stairs to reach the apartment are a bit steep (if anyone comes with heavy luggage that could be a problem), and a couple of steps were even screeching a bit more than what would feel safe. :) The bathroom was also a bit strangely designed and there were no places to hang the towels or blinds/covers for its little window. But overall minor things.

Alloggio spazioso, silenzioso e in una posizione perfetta per esplorare la splendida Alfama. Siamo stati accolti con grande gentilezza e simpatia da Diogo, che ci ha fatto sentire subito a casa. Abbiamo apprezzato molto la cucina ben attrezzata, che ci ha permesso di preparare tanti pasti durante il soggiorno. Un gesto davvero gradito è stata la pulizia extra offerta, vista la nostra permanenza di circa 10 giorni. Un’esperienza piacevole e comoda sotto ogni aspetto.

Peccato che non ci fosse il condizionatore, ma il ventilatore ha fatto il suo lavoro e la casa rimaneva comunque abbastanza fresca.
