Casas da Baixa - Casinhas da Mouraria

Sadly upon Arrival we didn't get any instructions to enter the facility and had to Mail and Phone around to get inside. Eventually we made it. cute little apartment with just the basics. Sadly there is a bit mold in the Shower, which isn't that great. The shower generally is difficult as its leaking water to the room and has practically no space to put anything anywhere. The location and stay over all were great and its a good deal for the price.

Just what we needed. Liked the recommendations offered by the apartment

Beds were a bit uncomfortable, a mattress topper for them both would have been good. Not the best area, felt a little bit dicey walking down to the restaurants. A lot of men hanging around on the streets

The flat was quite spacious with a nice view on the castle.

The check-in was tedious, it was not working electronically, the people on the help-line were not really helpful, it took quite an effort to come to the solution (sending the data via an e-mail). The furniture was partially really worn-out, it was impossible to close the door between the toilet/bathroom and the room. The area is quite wierd, in a street staircase passage app. 100 meters from the flat there are plenty of junkies even during the day.

This Apartment is excellent in terms of what if offered in relation to space and cleanliness. The apartment is brilliantly equipped and a Lidl store 5 mins walking distance for any other needs. The Host sent through great instructions to gain entry to our apartment and we arrived earlier than our check in time and we was able to access our apartment to drop off our luggage.

One draw back we found with this apartment was the location in the city of Lisbon, In our experience we felt slightly uneasy about our surroundings, there is a lot of homeless community within this area and the streets were generally dirty and smelly ( this obviously isn't the fault of the apartment owners but something to bare in mind when booking), we generally walked during the daytime from the apartment but at night felt it was safer to catch a taxi to and from the apartment..

The location was good, we had good access to the city center

Horrible night with cockroaches, and there was no spray for killing them. The staff either attended us.

We loved our stay, the apartment has a nice little balcony, kitchen with cooker, coffee maker and utensils for cooking, lots of natural light, lovely bedroom and bathroom and comfy bed. It’s central, 20 ish minutes walk to the centre, but very cheap to get taxis and also close to public transport. There is a lidl and other supermarkets 5 minutes walk away. It’s close to Miradouro da Senhora do Monte (6 minutes up hill) where you can watch sunset / get a view of the city. Really clean apartment, and good service, they were only a message away if we had questions and could check out 1 hour later the day we were leaving as it suited that day. I recommend this spot if you’re staying in Lisbon.

It would be good to have a toaster and kettle in the kitchen.

• From looking at the photos I thought there were only 2 apartments, however there’s a 3rd that’s probably not pictured for a reason, had to keep shutters shut the whole stay as didn’t feel safe. You should be able to book on booking.com which room you’d like as the ground floor apartment definitely isn’t worth what we paid. Location definitely no good for just females. • Floors were filthy definitely hadn’t been cleaned in a while, as soon as I stepped out the shower my feet were black. • No towels hanging/drying system so we’re using wet towels for the whole stay, this also explains why the dining chairs are ruined and are long overdue being replaced. • Large stain on the sofa • No one is contactable after office hours, we arrived at 9pm and if it wasn’t for a stranger in the street helping us open the door we wouldn’t have been able to get in to our apartment. Definitely do your research in the reviews as I didn’t properly check, and having now read a lot of what I’ve already said I probably wouldn’t have booked.
