Cosy Alfama

The property was ideally located to explore Alfama and the wider Lisbon attractions/sights. Everything was within easy walking distance. The property had everything we required for a short break.

We found it difficult to locate the property when we arrived. As it is in a pedestrian area, the taxi from the airport could only drop us in the vicinity and then we had to find our own way. Fortunately we were travelling light with small backpacks rather than full suitcases so it wasn’t really a problem. We did spend some time wandering around trying to find the property - it would have helped to be given a GPS location or even What Three Words (https://w3w.co/strapped.system.done).

Thank you Marta, she maintained wonderful communication with us in the lead up and during the stay, and Helena who was so kind to met us and show us the apartment - thank you also. Marta has a very homely environment, central within the Alfama area, mattress topper and pillows so so comfortable, washing machine and located in a quiet area.

The property is approximately 150m up a hill from the road and on the 3 rd floor with no lift (this wasn’t of concern to us) although if you have restricted mobility - this accommodation isn’t suitable.

Great location in a great part of Alfama. Easy to get around and the location felt less tourist-trodden than other parts of Alfama. There was even a bottle of port waiting for us!

A great apartment with plenty of facilities available. Really nicely decorated. Most welcome gifts of wine, port, coffee and biscuits. Great location in what feels like a very traditional, local neighbourhood but was still quiet at night. Plenty of restaurants nearby and, with a bit of climbing, great access to some key tourist spots and transport.

Bed was only a double and not really suitable for most travellers. Needs brighter lighting in the bathroom.and over the dining table. It has been mentioned in other reviews but guests need to be aware of the many steps and narrow lanes that need to be negotiated to get to the apartment, as well as the three flights of stairs within the building.

We were greeted heartily even though our plane was super late and we arrived at 1:00 AM. The apartment was a real home away from home. Cosy for sure and a very well stocked kitchen. We really enjoyed our stay and it's location was perfect for us.

Not much. After all the hills waking all day only complaint was we were up 3 flights of stairs, however, it really got us in shape and it was so lovely once in the apartment not really a serious complaint!

It is an spacious, comfortable, full equiped and very nice decorated apartment. It looks as if you are at home. The neighborhood is amazing even though you need to exercise a lot going and and down the narrow streets.

If you have heavy luggage it”s quite difficult to reach the place since cars are not allow to enter and they drop you off almost two blocks away from the place on a going up street. You can manage… but just to know.
