The apartment was located in the centre of the old town, surrounded by numerous Portuguese eateries and bars and supermarkets of varying sizes. Furthermore, it was only a short distance walk to the Metro as well as the train station and buses. The Apartment was fully equipped, clean, quiet and aesthetically pleasant, whilst Pedro our friendly host offered to help us with any other reasonable requests. Could not ask for more.

Climbing a couple of steep hills, with narrow footpaths and broken cobblestones from the Metro to the Apartment (definitely caution against navigating these streets in anything but solid shoes or sneakers). However, these conditions had nothing to do with our host.

Initially we booked this apartment because it described itself as being in Biaxa, which would have been in the touristy part of town. I almost cancelled when I looked at the map and found out it was in the Afama area, and I am SO glad we didn't cancel. The apartment is great-up 3 flights of stairs, but there is a small, very slow elevator when our legs were tired. It is 3 blocks from the metro station (up some steep streets) but in a quiet area full of really nice local restaurants. There is a very well stocked grocery store and a fantastic bakery in the train/metro station which makes it easy to stock up. We walked almost everywhere through quiet streets and wonderful sites--and when we were in the touristy areas (very modern), it made us thankful to have stayed in this great place.

There was not anything we didn't like. It was a perfect place from which to explore Lisbon and catch the metro and buses elsewhere.

The apartment is really well designed and super clean and comfortable. It is located in the wonderful Alfama district with lots of bars and restaurants within a short walking distance. Special shout out to the Teju bar specialising in traditional Fado. Pedro was a great host and fantastic at communicating.It was a delight to stay at the apartment.

Amazing host, great location, easy self checkin

Nice spacious flat in the heart of real Portuguese culture close to all amenities for travelling around the city. Great tradition restaurant and plenty of places to visit close by. Stunning architecture within yards of the apartment. The famous Fado music plus other musicians being played in many of the restaurant within walking distance.

Nothing to dislike

Pedro was an amazing host. He provided so much information on Lisbon. He went over and above what I expected. The Alfama is great to experience the real historic Lisbon.

The area wouldn’t work well for people with mobility issues but we enjoyed the authentic feel.

Very lovely apartment, clean and comfortable at a great location.

Great layout, comfortable bed, nice lighting, great flow-thru ventilation. Very quiet.

Nothing - could use more hooks to hang up towels.

We liked that host treated with free coffee and wine. Location is very central, exceptional conenctivity - close to metro, central bus drives by and close by foot to city center.

All in all things were balanced :)
