Nothing to complain about

A compact and comfortable studio apartment in a very convenient location for the station and the underground. The apartment was very clean and had wi-fi. Good value for money. Very easy to communicate with the host who was very helpful.

The double bed was comfortable, however, a king size bed would have been better. Would have appreciated a reading lamp and table on both sides of the bed, rather than just on one side. The kitchen was very small though, as we didn't cook anything other than making coffee, it served us fine. Would have appreciated a welcome bottle of water and maybe a bottle of wine left in the fridge.

Very clear communication with owner. She was very kind and allowed me to occupy the apartment early since it was already cleaned and I arrived to the airport in the morning. There is a good supermarket at 50 meters from the building and the Chamartin train station is at a few blocks.

Convenient location near Metro for airport connection. Veronique kept in contact via message. Close to supermarket and Dala’s bar.

Poor sound proofing. You can’t open the kitchen drawers properly. No kettle.

Great location near the Chamart railway and metro station, especially for interrailers. One metro ride away from the Atocha train station as well. The apartment has everything you need also for a longer stay including a washing machine and clotheshorse. Separate kitchen was nice. The apartment's floor plan is a bit strange. Along the long corridor there is a bathroom, a kitchen and a lounge at the end. The living room is furnished a little strangely. Partly due to the fact that the living room and balcony had earlier combined. Wide pillar has remained in the middle of the wall. The living room has a large, comfortable bed and an impossibly large sofa/futon, which function I did not understand. The television is placed between the pillar and the window. The only place to watch TV is the window side of the sofa. Elsewhere, the television stays behind the pillar. Fortunately we didn't have much need for TV.

Due to the oversized sofa, there is no room for a proper dining table. There was a tiny square table, which was placed right next to the wall and the end of the sofa. Too small for breakfast for two. I prefer a larger dining table. I do not underfstand their deposit policy. Just after you have paid your booking they asked to share your credit card details on WhatsUp for charging the deposit. They also asked to send a photo of your passport for check in. These complete image copies contain information as e.g. personal security number, which the host does not need at all. If these details falls into the wrong hands, hackers can use my credit card and steal my identity. In my opinion, this procedure is completely against the EU GPDR regulations. If I had been aware of these policies I would not have made this reservation. Nowadays, customers should very carefully think to whom and where to share credit card and passport details. Credit card and identity thefts have become more common. The host is unlikely to abuse this information, but she can also become a victim of hacking. I think the deposit is completely unnecessary. There was nothing extraordinary in the apartment. All the payments should happen face to face or on the booking.com platform and there should not be any need to share passport or card images in the internet. The requirements to share these details in internet should be told beforehand in the Booking.com's web pages. Booking.com should not allow this kind of policies.
