Renaissance Apartment

Wonderful traditional house in the historic center of the beautiful city of Pienza! Ideal for families, our children (7+11 y.o.) loved their stay in their own bedrooms and bathroom on the 1st floor and us parents had some quiet time on the top floor bedroom with our own (strangely arranged) bathroom. The living room spacious and comfortable. Very kind host, they gave us the key in hand although we arrived late due to delayed flight. Overall a great stay!

Would have appreciated more directions from the host with regards to the public parking arrangements, especially since we arrived very late in the evening and it was difficult to navigate the city (ex. we would advise to offer some info fliers to the guests).

The central location was the best thing about this rental.

This apartment is not as it appears in the photos. It is dark, dated, worn, has awkward spaces like having to walk through your shower to get to the toilet! The 'terrace' is in the bedroom up a rickety staircase through a half size door that leads to a small space with no furniture to enjoy the view. It is dangerous to even go up there. It was lacking enough towels, no soap or shampoo in the bathroom and we didn't think it was well cleaned. (sinks, toilet, shower) Some of the utensils had caked on food and the glasses were old and etched. Part of the shower door was missing so they used a cheap plastic curtain that was all stained at the bottom. These things put us off especially after we had to wait over an hour for the host to arrive with the keys. I had asked for a 3 pm check in and she agreed to meet us. It was not the original host but her daughter. We stood there waiting for over an hour. I have never given a negative review in all my years of travelling, but our special two days in Pienza were not what we hoped for. The pictures, reviews and rating were the reasons we booked even though it was the most expensive place of our whole holiday- unfortunately this place needs some attention and the listing does not reflect the quality of the actual space.

The location is great as it is so close to everything. The apartment has lots of room and was clean and comfortable.

The apartment does not have much natural light and was dark. We suggest additional lighting.

great character and location, 2 minutes walk from the entrance and 5 minutes from free parking. hosts were great!

Be prepared for noise! The square which is 30 seconds away comes alive at night until about midnight and then the church bell rings every hour and at 8am it rings for about 3 minutes. there is a restaurant below so there are deliveries from 7am! be prepared to sleep from midnight to 7am!
