Santos Gem III - Central Space in Trendy Neighborhood

The apartment is quite spacious, which was nice for us (4 adults and 2 three years old). The location was nice. Having a washing machine to wash children clothes was useful.

It really smells like mould quite a lot, especially in kitchen when you open the cupboards. I expected this as I had read reviews, but I didn’t think it was going to be this bad. I also knew it was going to be relatively dark as not much natural light or windows- but that didn’t bother us so much. What we really didn’t enjoy was finding cockroaches on THREE occasions- it was disgusting and we had to kill them ourselves. We worried the entire trip that there were more and they were getting in our bags and clothes. Also, none of the doors close properly (the bathroom door or the two doors to the bedrooms)- this was really annoying- especially with toddlers that want to open doors all the time, and we want to use the toilet or shower in peace. The kitchen is not well equipped, and there is no drying rack for your clothes.

Fast response on our requests. The restaurants in that area are phenomenal.

Mildew smell in the bathroom and presence of mold on showers tiles. Location is decent - around 30min walking distance to downtown. 20 min by bus to Belem tower.

Nice location Quite spacious

There are 3 windows, 2 in a bedroom and 1 in the hallway. This makes ventilation difficult so heat and moisture tend to linger. Weird choice in shower faucet; only 45 cm between faucet and shower curtain. One wrong move and the water is burning hot, ice cold, off, or you're hugging the curtain. Kitchen cabinets smell like mold. Pans and pots in the kitchen are old/incomplete. In the weekend the neighbours are really noisy until 2, during the week it's quiet after 10-ish. We saw one cockroach in the appartement but that actually a good score in old neighborhoods like these. We where a bit late in booking an appartement in Lisboa so we had to settle. I would not recommend this one as a first choice.
