Cozy Estrela Apartment

Some of my request got lost in translation... all goo and they tried to help, however didn't help me in the long run.

No windows at the back of the property... to allow a breeze to flow through the apartment. It was VERY hot and didn't like to leave windows open all night.

The location was really good. you can get bus to go to Belem or city center. Facilities were good, necessary kitchen equipments were there.

Communication with the owners was really difficult, especially at the beginning. We saw a cockroach in the kitchen, which, although it can be expected in old houses, was still unpleasant, especially in the kitchen. Both our arrival and departure flights were late in the evening. Weeks ago, when I asked if we could check out late, they asked if 12:00 would work for us. But when I asked again on the last day, they said no. We had to leave at 11:00 with a child throwing a temper tantrum, not wanting to go. Sorry, but out of all the nice Portuguese people we met, this was our worst experience.

The apartment had everything we needed and the kitchen was very well equipped. It was helpful to have a few household items to enable us to wash up. Communication with Alessandra was good. The location was good. The apartment is just around the corner from Rua Presidente Arriga and within easy access of buses, trams and it's not far from the Cais do Sodre train station.

A couple of suggestions: - The final request for the tourist tax called the SEF was unexpected. Although it was only a small amount (€2 per day per person), it would be better to know about that up front, particularly as people don't carry cash around now. We also needed to give out passport info etc. - Provide hooks or towel rails for wet towels. Also maybe a shelf for sponge bags/toiletries. I left mine on the kitchen benchtop.

Although it’s not centrally located, there are plenty of buses/train to get you to the city center (I’ve been going walking and actually it’s a nice walk of 25-30min). if you are in 2 or more it’s way better to get an Uber/Bolt to go to the center, it will be less expensive than paying the bus/train tickets. The property is like on the pictures, but a bit smaller than I thought (not a dealbreaker though). Both beds are comfortable (bedroom and sofa bed). Renovated kitchen and bathroom, very good both. I slept on the sofa bed and honestly didn’t hear almost any noise from the street, very quiet area. In just a couple of steps you have a very nice view to the river. There is a very good pizzaria like 400m away called Donna Vespa pizza. Recommended.

There is no supermarket nearby (although this is not a problem from the property), so buy your water when you see one and bring it home. The mini market around the corner is very very expensive.

i liked everything. everything was wonderful!

It was clean, comfortable and easy to walk into Santos.

Noise from the people upstairs, stuffily hot needing fans even when it was cool outside.
