El Pozo-Villalobos Suite

The apartment contains everything that you may need. It is cosy, clean and lady owner was very kind and friendly. The supermarket is very close. I had a great time!

Nice affordable place with direct connection to the city center

Windows aren't closing completely.

- Public transport: I liked the closeness to El Pozo train station, which is around a 10 minutes walk away. Within two train stations you reach Atocha, the main train station of Madrid. - Super market around the corner, where I could find most things that I needed. - Pretty interior and good use of space. It is small but the place is planned good enough so you have everything that you might need in a most basic manner. But be careful with your head when you are on the upper platform where the bed is, and when you are using the kitchen. - Window has blinds. The system to open and shut them is behind the curtain on the right side. No light will enter the room anymore. Perfect for restful sleep and some privacy in the evening.

Main issues: - Thin walls: What I disliked mainly were the paper thin walls as others have mentioned before. I could hear the toilet flushing when I was in bed. It sounded as if water would splash directly on me (am not exaggerating). Besides that I could hear the TV playing behind the wall very clearly and obviously loud, and in such a manner, that I could have followed the programm if I would be fluent in spanish. - Broken fridge: I chose this apartment mainly because it had a kitchen and a fridge. I thought I could be cooking for myself here. The freezer door in the upper half of the fridge is missing and cools down the fridge significantly. I tried to store some salad and cucumber, which froze solid. The upper part of the fridge is therefore mostly unusable and the lower part really doesn't have much space to store anything meaningful. - Pans: All but one are scratched into such a condition, you shouldn't use them anymore if you care about not ingesting carcinogenic anti stick coating. Minor inconveniences: - Broken stove display: When you do try to cook something, you cannot really tell on which setting the lower stove top is, because the display is completly broken. With some deduction you are able to tell on which setting the upper one is. - Dull knives: There are three serrated knives and only the small one works ok. The other two don't cut well. Only other knifes are butter knives. - No toaster: Although one being visible on the pictures, there was none in the flat. - Speaking of the pictures: the pictures of the flat on the booking.com page are dated. I noticed a few changes in decoration, but nothing dramatic: different couch, different main painting on wall, no toaster, different lamp on ceiling, etc. - The towels were damp upon arrival. - Cleanliness: The apartment was mainly clean, but especially the area around the coffee machine (it is standing on a tray on the fridge) wasn't clean.

The house is cozy and beautiful, small but perfect for a couple or a single person. The host is adorable, so gentle and helpful. The structure is near to transport services.

I loved the coziness of the apartment. It felt like a little getaway.

The one critique I could have would have been having some kind of blind for more privacy, there were curtains but because it’s so close to the street I wouldn’t mind a bit more privacy.
