Aqua Sands #2 - Stay Waiheke

Great location near to Oneroa. Lovely views. Across the road from beautiful sheltered beach.

Photos suggested patio area but really that was the entry to apartment. Outside area a little tired and not clean. Lights were full of dust and insects. Windows in the apartment opened onto the back and side of property which was overgrown, unkempt and lots of insects/spiders. This meant they couldn't really be opened for ventilation. Very humid at night. Suggest some mosquito nets to windows to protect you from being bitten. Bed was comfortable. Equipment satisfactory. We felt quite expensive for quality of property.

The property is very close to Little Onerua beach and walking distance to Onerua village. The bed was comfortable, the line es were very nice, and the shower was strong and hot (though we tried to conserve water.) Communication before and during the visit was good.

I would’ve liked specific walking directions from Onerua so we didn’t walk on the road for the last bit. All I got was you can get off at stop 15 and walk up the hill. When the sidewalk runs out, you need to take the path down toward the beach, then cross the busy road and walk up the hill. I also would expect a unit by the beach to have beach towels. As others have noted, the only water source for the kitchenette is the bathroom. I found a basin that I filled with water to wash dishes, but I wish it was labeled for kitchen dish use only. I don’t know if someone might clean the floors with it.Know that you can sort of see the water from Unit 2, and there is road noise if you keep the unit open.

Central to everything-amazing beach right across the street. Beautiful view from the apartment, very clean, had every amenity we needed, good shower pressure, and the bed was extremely comfortable. Staff were very responsive and even allowed a late check out when requested.

It was cramped, The kitchenette was poor- the details said there was a stove top. There wasn't, and also there was no sink in the benchtop, so had to use the bathroom. There was no servicing eg no towel replacement during the week. There was a great deal of noise from the unit above us- on one evening it went on for 3 hours, and sounded like someone was spring cleaning- no insulation.

The location is excellent. Right across the road from Little Oneroa and 10 mins easy walk to Oneroa village. Crossing the road can be a bit challenging though as it says “No pedestrians” on the road signs and the road can be very busy. The king bed was very comfortable and lovely linen

This is a small studio and there are very limited views from the little balcony. Unit 1 & 2 are downstairs and trees block almost the entire view. On arrival the studio smelt musty and wasn’t as clean as I’d have expected for a place of this cost. There were a LOT of daddy-long-leg spiders we had to kill each day (no idea how they got in as we kept all windows and doors shut). The pillows were very large and it would’ve been appreciated to have x2 pillow sizes to accommodate pillow size preference We were also surprised to see there were no beach towels - and on inquiry were told it was an additional charge to hire a towel, and also a delivery fee (with no pick up option provided). Has we known this we’d have brought our own towels. Also, more than 1 bath towel each for 4 nights would’ve been nice especially given there was only a minuscule towel rack (coming away from the wall) and only one small hook for the hand towel. Some more hooks would be beneficial. The studio is fine with facilities but agree with other reviews that it’s weird not being able to wash dishes in the kitchen zone.
