Erriba House

We stayed at Eriba House for two nights, and what an absolute banger for bucks! Our main goal for this trip was to spend quality time exploring Cradle Mountain, not just rush through in a day. We first looked for accommodation inside the national park, but most places were either way out of our budget, booked out quickly, or just not spacious or appealing enough. So, we started searching outside the park—and that’s when I stumbled upon Eriba House, almost by accident. It’s located between Moina and Wilmot, about a 35-minute drive to the Cradle Mountain Visitor Centre (during icy road conditions). The location turned out to be perfect. From the moment we arrived, Colleen—the host—was incredibly welcoming and helpful. We requested to use the place briefly before check-in time, and she graciously agreed without hesitation. Each day, we left in the morning to explore Cradle Mountain and returned in the evening, and we absolutely loved coming back to such a cosy, well-thought-out space. The house itself is spacious with an open-plan kitchen and living area, two beautiful bedrooms (each with its own ensuite), and a lovely outdoor deck and patio overlooking a peaceful garden. Colleen has truly thought of everything—you’ll find all the amenities you need for a comfortable stay. Although it was just the two of us and we didn’t use the second bedroom, it’s a great option for families or friends travelling together. If I ever return to Cradle Mountain, I won’t even bother looking elsewhere—Eriba House will be my first choice. P.S. – If you're visiting Cradle Mountain and unsure where to stay, don't hesitate. Book this place. A 30-minute drive is honestly nothing, and you won’t regret it. Trust me on this!

I'm totally honest. There is really nothing I didn't like.

The property was very clean and comfortable and catered to all our needs. Plenty of breakfast staples provided along with a good selection of breads.

Location was just a little isolated for us but this does not detract from the property.

Wonderful holiday house just a 30 minute drive from the Cradle Mountain visitor centre. We really enjoyed our stay: the house had all the amenities we needed, very well-equipped kitchen which was handy to cook our dinners (not many restaurants nearby so that was the easiest), comfortable bed and bathroom, and good wifi signal. We visited the Devils at Cradle on a daytime feeding tour which was really worthwhile and spent a day walking in Cradle Mountain park. Erriba House is wheelchair accessible too, should anyone require that. We much appreciated the baked goods for afternoon tea (cookie and banana bread), and the provided breakfast (with croissant, bread, raisin toast, and muffin, jams and butter). They also provide some basics like pasta and rice and you can buy some tins and noodles (with honesty box). We saw lots of pademelons every evening in the garden, which was lovely too! Would definitely recommend a stay here when visiting Cradle Mountain and would not hesitate to come back.

The accommodation was superb. Clean, comfortable and has everything and more you need for an enjoyable stay. The location was perfect for bird and wallaby spotting.
