BAJA MÍA

This property is currently being built. We stayed in an older portion with a sliding door onto a balcony with a view of the beach/Sea of Cortez. It couldn't be in a better location! Within walking distance of restaurants and the mission and right on the malecon. Beautiful sunrises and super clean!!

It was VERY noisy. We were right above the Malecon where it is a nightly ritual for people to cruise up and down the street. This culture is awesome and I wouldn't change a thing however, there was also a storage yard next to us where there were large dogs barking well into the night - every time someone walked by. Again, this is welcome as this is where the fisherman parked their boats at night and their stuff was well protected. The only thing I would change here is providing a noise maker to help drown out the volume.

However, and here comes the hard part The noise is VERY loud with music and cars playing loud music going up and down the road. This was the only draw back

I felt like we had the worse room. Suite 101. No windows except front bedroom window which was right on the front sidewalk and road. Felt like being in a dungeon. Broken kitchen cabinet. Generally run down. Stained and uncomfortable futon. Several -maybe all of the other rooms-especially shown on the web site photos appeared to be brand new with patios and balconies.

Baja Mia was a great place to stay in Loreto! We only booked one week (the second week we were going to look around because we had never been to Loreto before). I think we hit the jackpot with Baja Mia: perfect seaside location, on the malecon boardwalk, bright with lots of windows, a balcony with full sun all day long (if you like that, we were in #110, 3rd floor). The view was great, watching the pelicans nose/dive all day. It is steps from the marina. The staff (Monica, Ricardo and Pancho) are outstanding and so helpful everyday. After a week we booked the second week here in the same unit and luckily it was still January and not that busy yet. Walking into town was easy and enjoyable.

If there has to be a slight negative, it’s the noise of locals driving by with their music blaring…sometimes in the middle of the night. Mexican folk love their music! This was not every night and it didn’t wake us. We slept very well, beds comfortable!

We stayed with pets (2 dogs and a cat) in room 105. The location is fantastic, right on the malecon. There is a large gravel area right outside the door where we could walk our pets for late night potty breaks. The room is spacious and very well equipped. The staff was helpful and friendly. They accommodated our early check in and everything was very smooth.
