Casa da Rota dos Moinhos, whilst located close to town, it is also within spitting distance to local hiking trails. The unit is comfortably appointed and the kitchen has everything one would need to prepare meals if so desired. Wi-Fi is strong and reliable and there are plenty of TV channels (in multiple languages). At night, the neighborhood is perfectly quiet, save for the odd dog barking or the rooster / chickens getting busy at dawn.

One day prior to arrival, the host(s) did not respond to my query raised via booking.com on how to reach the apartment. On the day of arrival, it took several attempts to reach the host via WhatsApp, only to be instructed to collect the keys from a local restaurant. This rendered the arrival experience rather inpersonal. To reach the apartment, one has to descend a very steep staircase (house is built into the hillside), which is a bit treacherous, especially when carrying a heavy suitcase.

Quiet, scenic location great for starting hikes. Walkable from the town and bus station for reasonably fit people. Very clean, spacious accommodation and very kind host. Also, chickens! :-)

Nothing major, but the kitchen knives were quite blunt for preparing food.

The cottage is quietly located on the outskirts of lousa, near the mountains, and has a nice view of the mountains. It is tastefully decorated and has a good bed. It is a good starting point for hikes. I lived there for 1 week to my complete satisfaction.
