Santa Helena Apartments

Met my the owner and her son who spoke perfect English. Very helpful and happy to recommend good local restaurants.

The house is great, perfectly sized for 2, and the bed is huge and comfortable. The backyard was amazing for sunbathing and just hanging around, and the pool was always at a fantastic temperature between 25ºC and 28ºC. The jacuzzi and ping pong table were also great fun! Oh, and there's this lovely and tame neighbourhood cat which would routinely grace us with its presence. It was so nice and friendly that we would have adopted it if it didn't imply taking it away from such a wonderful setting. The host is also very accessible and lives right across the street. We're definitely considering coming back next year if we can!

The WiFi signal was weak in our apartment; the router was clearly placed elsewhere in the building. Fortunately, we came prepared and brought our own signal repeater. The shower was also a bit fiddly, as the water would randomly go cold after a while running. We then had to turn it all the way to "hot" for a few seconds in order to "draw in" the hot water again. Once it would come in, we'd set it to the right temperature again and continue showering as usual. It was just a bit annoying, but hardly a deal-breaker: the shower itself is great.

Madalena was very welcoming. She lives in front of the property. Therefore, she is available if needed. I loved seeing the goats and sheeps in the back of the property. It is nice and quiet. Very remote, so you need a car to get around. With that being said, there is a pastelaria and a grocery store within walking distance. There is a nice little yard with a pool and a spa to enjoy. Parking also available. The place was very clean. I would definitely go back. It felt like home.

The sirenes at 7h30 am on week days. I finally got used to them. The mattress and the pillows were uncomfortable, in my opinion.

We liked the pool and the jakuzzi. The house was modern and beautiful.

Madalena met us on arrival and gave us the keys, she was extremely responsive and very helpful recommending places to eat and buy basic groceries. There is a full kitchen with everything you need. The apartment was beautiful and everything was sparking clean and brand new. There is a pool area and vast parking lot, game room with a grill, ping pong table, hot tub and a common full bath and laundry.

some of the items included in the apartment had a short life but they were replaced immediately.

The area and the friendliness of the host and her family nothing to much trouble. The apartment was large warm and very comfy with plenty of out door space to enjoy the winter sun.

The house facilities. It will be great if stay there during summer time, it has swimming pool. Drive to the beach only takes about 25mins. The host was very helpful and nice. The room was very clean. I liked their indoor bbq place a lot.

Location is bit remote, need to drive wherever you go.
