Casa Do Gilao

A very conveniently located property in the centre of the old town. Two large comfortable bedrooms with excellent bathrooms. The spacious living area is on the top floor with views across the roof tops. Two terraces to use in the hot weather. We didn't hire a car just used the train and taxis to get around. Numerous restaurants in walking distance. Would certainly consider returning.

A steep 32 stairs to get to the top floor. If you are less mobile it is perhaps not for you.

Loved the terrace - nice space - cosy - happy vibe

The living room was beautifully decorated as was the rest of the house. The king size beds were very comfortable. The water pressure in the bathrooms was really good. I would rent the property again and recommend it.

The house is so well appointed and comfortable, the terraces are wonderful and there is air conditioning throughout. Surrounded by restaurants and very close to the river. There is some noise from the bars and restaurants at night but it didn’t bother us too much. If you are a light sleeper some ear plugs may be useful. The host left a wealth of useful information and was easy to communicate with.

Make sure you clear up any crumbs in the kitchen as with all properties, some tiny ants can appear - but this is not a criticism of the host or the house!

What a fantastic place Casa Do Gilao is!! The host was very friendly and showed us how everything worked - she has also left a folder of local restaurant recommendations along with local hospitals/taxi firms/other important information (this was a really nice touch). The location was great and exactly what we were after. It was decorated nicely throughout and very clean. Beds were super comfy. Will definitely be looking to book a return trip and to stop at Casa Do Gilao.

Property is spacious and well appointed, very homely.

It is in a great location except the restaurants next door stay open to after 2am and the street noise can be a nuisance.

This was a wonderful location. The home is much more beautiful than the pictures show. Parking was free one block from the apartment. Lots of restaurants, cafes, and bars near by. Great value.

There was a bar across the street that was a bit loud if you go to bed early, but otherwise all was good.

We got the keys a little early( which was such a big bonus for us!!thanks again. Such a comfortable place. We just were so comfortable there

They can’t do anything about the parking , but if you get lucky , you can get a spot nearby

A modernised to a high standard house right in the hub of Tavira. Very clean and everything in it thought through well. Great showers. Lovely large terrace.

We loved the terrace and it was perfect for 4 of us but at this time of year the shade over the table does not keep the sun off as it is lower therefore we found it very hot with no shade in the afternoon. Perhaps a sun brolly would help and maybe a couple of comfortable deck chairs.
