Lo Splendore del Borgo

AMAZING LOCATION. Beach, Markets, Restaurants were all within a 10 minute walk. I cannot go on enough about this location the view from the balcony was breath taking.

The room was quite small which was expected for the price but the facilities were honestly not clean. All of the dishes were very unclean we had to rewash before use but all they had was a dirty used sponge. The bathroom had a constant underlying bad smell (tip - make sure to hold down flush until you hear the system fully drain because it automatically stops flushing halfway through if you don’t). The bed was pretty uncomfortable for two people (a couple) because its two twin mattresses put together and they push apart really easily. When we got there the garbages were not changed before arrival (there was dirty underwear in one of the bins) and we were only given one roll of toilet paper but when we told them they were pretty quick to bring more toilet paper and bring out the garbage so thats good.

This place is hard to describe in words. Only such emotions as happiness maybe? The same can be said about all of Italy. Of course, the same can be said about the ancient and impressive city of Tropea. Wow! Wowissimo!))) Here you are living in a high-rise, your own small apartment. The steep stairs are probably not accessible to the elderly. First, a cozy bedroom with a french balcony, further up the stairs is a modest kitchen and bathroom and a picturesque large terrace with a barbecue. And further on the roof there is another sunny terrace with a great view of the sea and the city. Bellissimo! No, it's not luxury one. But here everything is real, genuine, natural and very Calabrian)) And you live in the very heart of this incredible city. As soon as you leave the house, you will find yourself in the center of the tourist promenade high above the sea. And after going down the huge ancient stone stairs, you will immediately find yourself on wonderful beaches, where you relax with the bluest sea and a majestic city on grandiose rocks. Grandissimo!))

The airline canceled our flight due to the all-Italian strike. But we still arrived after several days and even late at night. And the owners met us very warmly and kindly and they hosted us anyway. And they gave a good possibility of a late check out. With no any additional fees! They saved our weekend in such a great place! But what did we thank? How did we say thank them? We forgot to leave a few euros of the mandatory tourist tax when we left!! O mamma mia! We promise to definitely come again and again next summer and pay tax in advance!)) Grazie mille!

stair case is really tight, and narrow, lots of stairs to get to our place with bags.

it is located in the best spot! right across the street is a parking lot and then the stairs that leads you to the beach. it is also a few steps away from a mini market where we went everyday for drinks and sandwiches. loved sitting on the patio everyday. the view from the patio is breathtaking!

parking is tough, but a parking lot is across the street for 2 euros an hour.

The location was great.

The kitchen is on the top floor, separated from the bedroom. The bedroom was clean but the kitchen & table on the terrace weren't clean as I expected..

Location is impeccable, with isola bella in view from the room / balcony, and just a stroll to the center.

Wish there was more information about parking: while it has not been a problem finding parking spot right in front of the building, the cost is quite significant. I’ve seen free parking spots further away but then it wouldn’t be easy with luggage. It’s something to take into consideration.
