Gabbiano Azzurro Flat Chianalea

The location is amazing and is what makes the apartment incredibly special. We watched the waves every day and saw the lights come on in town. Parking was ok - by the hour nearby or private up a small hill. The third bedroom is a single room without AC but otherwise the AC worked well. Internet was ok. Fresh cornetti were left every day.

Stronger wifi would be helpful but overall it worked.

The location of this apartment is probably the best thing about it - directly at the start of Chianalea on Via Annunziata. There is a wonderful seaview from the living room. Excellent water pressure and plenty of hot water for showers.

I couldn't contact the host for more than 2 weeks before our stay, to ask some questions. Sent several messages through Booking.com but they were undeliverable. No private parking available, just whatever we could find on-street ourselves - at 18:30 in the evening everywhere was full. I'm also not sure what the "restaurant on site" in the description is referring to. Nothing was mentioned to us when we arrived and I didn't see a restaurant in the building. The apartment floor was dirty and sticky. All the soft furnishings (cushions, sofa, curtains) had stains and one armchair smelt of urine. Only 2 of the 3 bedrooms had air-conditioning. Several windows didn't have any curtains or blinds for privacy. Fridge handle broken off. Only 4 chairs at the table in an apartment that sleeps at least 5 people. Annoying motion sensor lights in the bathrooms that switched off while you were in the shower or at the sink. On the other hand if you went to the toilet in the moddle of the night it would activate the lighting/fan and wake up your room mate. It did seem like Scilla was completely overrun with visitors when we were there (mid-August) and the overall standard of accomodation in this area seems to be quite basic. Unbelievably this was one of the best options I could find for our travel dates!

Location of the apartment with a stunning view was absolutely a beautiful experience. Constantino was so accommodating and tended to our requests quickly. Not to mention the fact we received warm brioche every morning just wonderful.

Position is incredible. Flat is well equipped and manager is very responsive. Parking was easy. Scolla is a real gem. Walk along the road was pretty with interesting shops and bard

Location! Location! Location! Everything was almost perfect.

Little things for now: Sofa could do with new cushions and the mattresses could do with replacing. Other than that, everything was perfect!

The apartment was located right on the edge of the bay and you could open the patio doors to the beautiful blue sea view. Costantino brought croissant e biscotti freschi each morning which was lovely, just sitting back with a coffee and enjoying the view and watching the various ships going through the Messina strait; very entertaining, especially looking through the provided binoculars. Lots of seafood restaurants located nearby, sourcing local seafood from local boats. Overall a great stay at this apartment in Chianalea!
