Nice renovated apartment in an old building with nice views to the marshes

It was a bit pricey for the season

The location can't be beat, it's a two minute walk to the entrance to the salt pans, and I love walking out there in the morning - the bird life is incredible. It's amazing to see flocks of flamingos and ducks and all the different wading birds. But it's also a five minute walk down to the waterfront for some fantastic restaurants. Lidl and Aldi are just five minutes drive or a fifteen minute walk away, and the ferry out to the beach is about a ten minute walk. The main Tavira market - which is the place to go for good quality fruit and vegetables is a three minute walk. The apartment is spacious and well equipped in general. It gets good morning light but not evening light. The pool was unheated but great for a cold plunge on a few mornings. Although the car parking is right outside the bedrooms, the walls and window is well insulated for sound.

The armchairs and kitchen rug are quite stained. The kitchen is outfitted with Ikea utensils, so the chopping knives are very blunt and the chopping boards are quite small. The pillows were rigid memory foam, and not that comfortable. The bathroom extractor fan is undersized (that's a fault of the building architect) - so steam doesn't get extracted properly and towels are very slow to dry if you leave them in the bathroom. The bathroom grout is a big moldy and could do with replacement. The road is a bit close to this apartment, so if you keep the windows and door open, you do hear some road noise, although it's not too bad. I used the combo washing machine/dryer twice. The dryer doesn't work very well and there was a loud knocking sound from it - so it may need some maintenance.

Location was great & about10 minutes from the centre. The apartment was spotless & communication with the host was easy.
