"Top notch apartment"

10.0

The apartment was really perfect for us and very well appointed. We make great use of the washer and dryer! Grounds of the place were great to walk around and bird watch. It's out of town so you need a car.

"Secluded villa for visiting Manuel Antonio without the busy vibes of other tourist areas nearby"

9.0

We liked that the house had thick walls and was in a super quiet location, so we were not affected by any outside noise, and it also had mosquito nets on the windows so that we could open the windows and air the apartment with no worries of bugs getting in. The property is surrounded by greenery and is very close to one side of the national park, meaning we had the chance to see loads of monkeys in the trees next to the house, and even an armadillo in the garden. The apartment was very spacious and had everything we needed for our stay - the addition of the washing machine was a big positive for us. The accommodation is in a more remote location but is still only 10 mins drive from MA national park, and is a very short drive away from lots of places to eat and drink. The hosts were also super helpful via WhatsApp, and gave us a great dinner recommendation for the Restaurant Cerdo Feliz.

We could tell that the mattress had been very well used and in places was very uncomfortable (in our opinion it could be replaced). We could also tell that the AC in the living room was not working as well as the unit in the bedroom, which made cooling down the main living space quite tricky. Finally, the apartment was quite dark, given the tall trees in the surroundings, but this is a small sacrifice for being so close to nature.

Beautiful property Host communicated well with timely manner and resolved the toilet issue immediately.

It was a little tricky to find. Water pressure of the toilet is very weak. Do Not even flush toilet paper.

"Excellent value in Manuel Antonio, CR area"

9.0

It truly is beautiful, from the wooden accents which are typical in high end accomodations in this part of the world, to the luxurious and spacious bathroom and its washer/dryer access, Suenos de Amor certainly exceeded all expectations in this department. The separate bedroom allows guests to feel like there is some space and privacy between them. It also had separate parking and is away from the hustle and bustle of the town. Its host has also provided everything one might want from silverware, to pots for cooking, etc. The host was also very accessible in case anything came up (she was accomodating, for example, when before arriving we requested an adjustment to the reservation) and the wifi also worked flawlessly. It is also within a short 10-minute drive to Manuel Antonio Park and has a well stocked grocery store within a 2 or so minute drive.

That said, there were certainly some issues. The most substantial is that it's somewhat treacherous to arrive at. The host does provide good instructions/directions, but you should consider yourself very skilled at driving narrow and winding Latin American mountain roads to get there (or have a local at the wheel). If driving, I would not try to arrive there for the first time after nightfall. Also, the power went out for about an hour one day (not a big deal and certainly out of the hosts hands), so be prepared for this. Lastly, also know that you will not be able to pay via credit card and will have to come to some other arrangements with the host (venmo, zelle, paying her manager in cash, etc).
