Vista del Pacifico Boutique Hotel

Super location - easy to get to Manuel Antonio, uvita and restraints in quepos - friendly hostess, loads of wildlife to watch from the balcony (toucans, monkeys, squirrels etc), fab view - ocean view room 6. Room was very clean with air conditioning and fans, much needed in quepos! A lot of people mention the drive/ track up to the hotel, it's absolutely fine in a 4x4 and probably a normal car if not rainy season.

Door lock was a little hit and miss trying to open. No one cleaned the room during our stay. It may have been because they were expecting a tip throughout the stay whereas we tend to tip at the end - which we still did as they fixed the loo for us with no bother and quickly.

The view was great. The family who own it live there and are very nice people, Frank who met us at arrival was very nice. The towels were great and the beds were comfortable.

Simply put the rental was not worth what is being charged. Value for money, we stayed in much better for far less. There are multiple units in the building, we stayed in the three bedroom on the top floor, so my review is based on this experience. The family also lives there, so it felt a little like an airbnb. Everyone was super polite, but privacy is diminished. The unit needs updating badly. There was no kettle which was surprising. The controls for the burners on the stove are worn off, so you have to figure out what controls what. The kitchen needs new and more utensils, bowls, etc, badly. There was a slight sewer smells coming from what used to be a laundry room. Again the people there were very polite, but the unit needs some upgrades badly. Value for money, it just wasn't there. Plus if you have trouble with steps, this one isn't for you.

Liked: the view! We saw lots of animals (toucans, macaws, squirrel monkeys, humming birds and tonnes of other small birds). We also liked the beds, they were comfortable. The balcony was great.

We didn’t like: the AC wasn’t working (the big standing fans were okay). The curtain for the window in the bathroom was small so there was a lack of privacy. There was nowhere to hang the wet clothes/bathing suits to dry. There was also construction going on, which wasn’t ideal.
