Gems Seaside Lodge

Location. Location. Location. Walking into the studio through the front door the first thing you see through the glass doors at the other end is 90 Mile Beach and the ocean in Ahipara Bay. The sunsets over the water are amazing! The property is at the end of a quiet residential street so no through traffic, but it's a small town so there generally aren't a lot of cars anyway. The studio was kitted out with a decent kitchenette and all the utensils you'd need (but we didn't use during our two night stay).

Someone parked their dual cab ute with boat trailer over both car parking bays one night, so when we returned we had to park on the street. This was out of the control of the owner of course. The remote location means Wifi wasn't super fast, but it was OK. The narrow "hall" to store luggage, hang clothes, etc, (between the bathroom and main room) is a tight squeeze and a bit inconvenient and I'm not a big person. But I don't know how they could fix it.

Location was lovely! Good way to show my fiancé the area I grew up in.

The shower was not really that great but didn't in any way take away from the experience. But would be good if there was abit more pressure.

Absolutely beautiful property, stunning location, view from every room looking over the spectacular west coast. This property was very comfortable, bed configuration accommodated, fantastic kitchen facilities, two seperate bathrooms, lovely outdoor decking area. Easy drive to Cape Reinga. Pub meal at nearby Awanui was excellent. Would definitely stay here again and highly recommend to others!
