Chiltern Holiday apartments

Location is perfect, we walked everywhere and in 5min walk you can see and visit all the places you came to see. Good bed, cosy room, plenty of sockets - extra thanks to the owners for that! Our windows were in the roof that's why we enjoyed the views as well. Lots of shelves, easy to unpack and see where you put everything. I was happy with kitchen - cooked everything I wanted, didn't spend a penny on eating out which made our holiday even better

As we were on the last floor, under the roof, it was a challenge not to hit your head against the roof wall, they are pretty low. We are not tall people so it could manage. It's better to give people a heads up that they will stay with low roof. When I booked this room there were photos of both last floor and second gloor rooms, it wasn't definite that we would stay under the roof. The Wi-Fi is only in one part of the room near TV set, in bed and in toilet Wi-Fi didn't work, it was unexpected. The owner gave us a whole tour how to use everything in the room and my husband was happy about detailed instruction (old school!) I found it too long about obvious things - I can use tv remote without full instruction how it works.

Brilliant location, only a few mins walk to get into the shops and centre of Whitby. The seaside and shops are really close but the place is located just outside the main area, not noisy at all at night time (except a random neighbour shouting something in the middle of the night and seagull noise but neither could've been done much about). The hosts (Jools and John) were very lovely and welcoming, pick up of the keys and paying for the accommodation was very fast. I rang them on the day of our travel and they did mention about the address (one street, two street names share the same postcode) which was very informative. Accommodation itself was lovely and cosy, we chose a place with kitchen as wanted to do some fishing and have them as a dinner one night. The kitchen has all the essential equipment for cooking and cooker/oven was straight forward to use (along with John's very good instruction and showing us around at the start!). The shower is good, and overall place is perfect for a week's stay for a couple as it felt like a cosy mini apartment (with open plan space between the kitchen and living room). We stayed on 2nd floor, and it was very nice! The bed is interesting one, as it is very comfortable but does have two random dips on either side of the bed, while we couldn't snuggle due to I think it's a queen size bed and has the dips, it was comfortable to sleep on. Car park was straight forward, we were lucky to find a parking space down the road with 2-3 hours max stay, popped to the reception to check-in and purchased £5 car parking voucher from Jools and John for 4 nights stay, which is a bargain in comparison to if we parked by the seaside (£10 per day). Overall, would recommend this place. The host did mention that they can take booking directly which might be worth enquiring.

Nothing. The accommodation and hosts were lovely, didn't need anything during our stay (as pretty much had everything we needed) which I think is a good sign.

Property was spotless clean & the apartment had everything you could possibly need.very spacious,well decorated lots of storage.Close to town centre & all in all a great place to step.Jools & John are great hosts & made our stay a pleasurable one.Highly recommend to stay here.Value for money was excellent.Thanks Jools & John
