Old town lodge Antwerp Apartment

The big apartment is in an old house in the back and thus away from any street noise. It has large windows that let in a good amount of sunlight, making it perfect to spend time there also during the day. The kitchen was well stocked. It was also good to have the video instructions for finding the apartment because I arrived in the dark and thus knowing where to go made that simpler, especially also with the lack of lights in the entrance doorway, but thankfully, every smartphone has a torch.

The instructions for picking up the key led me to the wrong street despite the updated address that was sent, but the residents had helpfully put up a sign that showed the correct location. After that it was easy to find. The bathroom in the apartment could be a bit cleaner.

the location was amazing, very close to the center.

it was way too small for 12 people, we had to sleep on small matresses on te ground, people even had to sleep in the kitchen. the price is alright if you take the location in consideration, but the facilities for 12 people were terrible. there were only 2 normal beds for 2 persons each. it is definitely not like the pictures, read everything very carefully, and dont choose this when you sre going with a lot of people

The price was absolutely fair given the size and location of the apartment. It was very well equipped, clean, wifi worked well, and it was nice to enjoy the bathtub.

I needed to grab the keys too far away and walk to the apartment around 20 min with my suitcase. There were mosquitoes during summer, the building is a bit old and I could hear everything from the neighbors upstairs, the water in the shower suddenly start dropping in the middle of the night, it was difficult to fall asleep. The worst thing was I asked for a fan via WhatsApp and I received no answers. Later that day I guy entered in my apartment (a very nice guy, this is not his fault at all) even when my key was in the door! He rang the bell but suddenly entered with a fan. I was so paranoid after that... The next day I received a message saying "sorry we don't have a fan". It was crazy! (The fan is not important, and the guy was kind, but that lack of communication made my stay an unpleasant experience)

The location of the accommodation was perfect. Very close to the historic center of Antwerp, easily accessible by metro.

The photos on booking.com were slightly deceiving, as the photos show the apartment on the second floor, which gives the impression that the apartment is very spacious, which is not the case if you only rent the lower floor. We were with seven people, but because of that the living room had to be turned into a bedroom, meaning that we had no space to just sit. Besides, the dining room was not large enough for seven people, since it only had space to sit comfortably with four. The kitchen was very ill equipped with little to no tools for cooking. All in all, there were a lot of small things (like no extra towels in the kitchen or toilet) that made our stay a little less exciting than we hoped.

Spacious apartment with working facilities (including powerful hair dryer compared to cheap ones in hotels), clean, good location.

Didn’t find any iron. Bathroom facilities are fully working but shower was a bit old with slight leak, didn’t impact my overall impression and still recommend it but owners should consider changing it

RAVE REVIEW: The location can’t be oversold. Perfectly situated for me to pop home and change my shoes after work and before heading out to a museum! In the heart of all the fun, perfect for an evening wander, yet I slept well in silence and darkness at night. The water was always hot, and the heating set to a very agreeable, cosy temperature that was most welcome after freezing my fingers off on a bike. Speaking of which, there’s a bike point incredibly close, so nipping around Antwerp on one of those (free up to 30mins!) and being able to leave it right by my accommodation was the cherry on the cake. I loved having my own space instead of being in a pokey hotel room, and enjoyed breakfast with a view of those beautiful traditional houses, opening the window when the cathedral bells were chiming. It was very useful to be able to follow the always-visible cathedral spire to find my way home! I also left a night early for Brussels (my mistake - should’ve stayed!), so texted them that I’d left the key as instructed, which got a cheery thanks as confirmation. I felt safe and happy as a woman travelling alone, which I think says everything. The finish of the paintwork etc. isn’t great, but it didn’t bother me: this is a gem of affordable accommodation in the centre. I hope to return!

The pillows were dreadful, but with so MANY to choose from, I used 3 and was fine! It didn’t feel dirty, but could do with a better dusting job, especially higher up - on top of the lights and around windows etc. Fix the curtain in the bedroom!

Perfect location

Sunk in bathtube absolutely doesn’t work. 2 beds stay in same room. Horrible pillows an old linen , not much towels. Take key you should go to another part of center- loosed 1 hour of stay because of that.
