Garden Suite in city center

Great location. A quiet side street with an easy walk to all the main attractions in Antwerp. Great for a couple or family of 4.

It is a nice apartment in a very convenient location. I liked the shower in the bedroom, small kitchen and nice things to make you comfortable like slippers to go to the garden, cooled wine glasses and tea/coffee. It is a perfect place for a short time stay. The host is responsive, helpful and friendly. Even if we had an unpleasant issue with the cleaning staff and I freaked out, the host was super nice and solved the issue in no time at all.

The cleaner smokes in the room and there was a terrible cigarette smell in the toilet afterwards.

The apartment is even better than on the pictures: wide space decorated with taste, fully furnished with updated accommodations, cozy little garden carefully maintained AND last but not least, the level of cleanliness approaches the perfection. If the main bed may seem a bit little for tall people, no worries, the sofa is convertible in a very confortable bed. The icing on the cake is the lovely location in the hearth of the fashion district of Antwerp. The place is also 100% safe and secure.

The owner has been a nightmare. In the middle of the night, we were awakened by the overwhelming smell of sewer gasses coming from the shower that is weirdly placed in the bedroom. My guess is it is missing a p-trap. My wife had to relocate to sleep on the couch because the smell made her ill. When I told the owner, they basically expected us to oderize their shower at 2 a.m. with some kind of chemical they keep in the shower. This lead me to research some more and realize other guests have complained and they have an air purifier running, so they clearly know about this issue and don’t tell you and expect you to deal with it. Then, the owner accuses me of: (1) having a 3rd person in the room (just false); (2) not paying the city tax (false, I left it in cash in the letter box precisely as instructed by the owner); (3) sliding our very expensive tandem bike into the space overnight for security (which is true, but I was never told by the owner I could not store the bike there and no damage was done, we were very careful); and (4) not paying the dog surcharge for our 5kg dog (which, again is true, but I was never told by the owner the fee until after we had left. The listing says “charges MAY apply” and every place will tell you the charge in the initial instructions). I would NEVER stay here again.

Had a really amazing time!! Booked this place very last minute & was able to get in immediately! The owner had lit a few candles, turned on the heating & fireplace on the TV- made it SO cosy to check in! The location couldn’t have been better, right in the center but NO noise whatsoever! The appartement was styled beautifully & we couldnt believe the price we paid for such a nice stay. We had a wonderful time & want to come back for a longer stay soon!

- cold - no separated bathroom - just shower cabin near the bed - air conditioner did not work - wi-fi connection did not work - strong chemical smell (like painting)
