Piazzetta Del Forno - Monolocale

Assergi is a perfect place for hiking, in particular if you want to catch an early cable car to the top of Campo Imperatore. Even though most houses in Assergi are empty, it is nice to walk through the tiny streets. The shared rooftop terrace of the building allows for beautiful views. The appartment was very clean.

On arrival, the communication with the host was poor. We do not speak Italian, but this was never an issue on our trips due to preparation, goodwill and sometimes improvisation of gentle hosts. But here: After announcement of our arrival time, we were sent a phone number for check in. We called this number when we stood at the entrance. The lady at the other end spoke only Italian, the phone call was leading nowhere. After some back and forth via messaging, with us using google translate, we finally got the info for the key safe. Lost in translation was the info that one of the three key safes serves as store for several keys, what a clever idea! So we accidentally took somebody elses keys as well, which led to some confusion and drama later on. Recommendation to host: Get a forth key safe and just send one message before arrival with key safe number and code in English and save everybody a lot of time and nerves. Also, some info about parking upfront would have been nice. The seemingly best option is some slightly adventurous and narrow 180⁰ uphill turn to the church at the southern end of the old town, not recommended for larger vehicles. In any case, you need to carry your bags from the piazza at the church to the appartment. Again, not a problem per se, but should have been communicated before. Now to the appartment itself: Beds and bath are okay, the kitchen is literally falling apart (one cupboard door already missing, another one hanging down). Biggest problem was: We could hear every word (!) from our neighbors next door. We could only sleep after they had gone to bed as well, we have never experienced that poor soundproofing before. Finally, packed breakfast is common in Italy, but this was on the poorer side with little options. Also, we initially did not have enough breakfast for two days and only received it after asking the cleaning lady, whom we met by accidence.

Monolocale accogliente e pulito, l'angolo cottura con il necessario per trascorre la vacanza. Molto bella la terrazza in comune proprio di fronte la porta d'ingresso del monolocale, di notte è possibile vedere le stelle senza luci della città, rimarrete sbalorditi.

Mancanza di 1 comodino, cassetti, pensili e mobile cucina, non c'era spazio per sistemare spesa e abiti. Cattiva illuminazione mancanza forno, accessori cucina (presine, insalatiera, schiaccianoci, altri utensili.... Su richiesta ci hanno fatto avere tostapane e forno a microonde Posizione alloggio non vicina ad una strada raggiungibile con l'auto
