The Loft at the Barn

No breakfast and no internet

Everything was in walking distance of downtown Harpers Ferry. The barn was a very good stay, host informed on how the business hours (the downstairs bar) were ahead of time. The loft was clean upon arrival.

Only draw back was in late evenings, if not partaking down at the lower bar entertainment (local artists/bands) for weekend evenings. The tv was a fair distance away from the bed, had to turn the volume up. Tv/entertainment center could be rearranged slightly for downtime getting ready for bed.

Loved the location and the fact that there was a great bar right downstairs and a wonderful cafe/restaurant across the parking lot. It was like everything we needed or wanted was right on site! The host was also very responsive to questions or needs we had.

There were quite a few cobwebs and some spiders, but nothing that wouldn't be easily remedied with a deep clean. Also, fluffier towels would have been nice, but def not a deal breaker!

The only thing would be the steps up to the loft and maybe the wood door needs to be sanded at the bottom for easier locking access

The location was ideal! We walked everywhere and Snallygasters across the parking lot was delish!. The folks at the Barn Bar below us couldn't have been nicer. The view from the room was beautiful.

Well, the stairs up to the loft were a bit steep. One of the windows didn't close all of the way but I notified the rental company. And, of course, the noise from the bar below but it didn't last all night and we went twice to have drinks and hear music so , not too bad.

Really cute space with a kitchen, utility closet (vacuum, iron, extra blankets), king bed (we were surprised and delighted). Clean and tidy with a binder full of things to know about the property and the area too which was great. The view of the local mountains was lovely and we caught them on a fun foggy day where the trees barely peeked out. Angela was amazing and super responsive to us. Check in and check out were easy. There's a cafe and a bakery within the same block and both were excellent! (This space is not ADA accessible, so keep that in mind if you have folks with wheelchairs or mobility needs). Other than that, plenty of cute spots to eat and go out nearby and it's a short drive from Downtown Harper's ferry if you want to hike, peer at the water, or go tubing during the warmer season.

Unfortunately the description didn't mention it, but this space is above a bar. Really good for folks who are bargoers, but not the best for folks looking for quiet. The first night, the music wasn't super loud, but went on until about 12:45-1am. There was a birthday party going on below us the second night and the bass was quite loud, shaking the lamps and the artwork at one point. The private event/djs are a rare thing from what I've heard though and apparently they were filming parts of a movie in the space the next day. (If you're into it, the bar does have live music and open mic nights, it's just not something that we were looking for). Angela was such a pleasant host though, so if the noise might point you elsewhere, check to see what other spaces she has available!

Location was good. Loft was clean and mostly comfortable. Kitchen has everything needed to make meals if you choose to. We didn't use the shower, but it was clean and shampoo was provided.

Really should disclose the loft is not just above a barn, but The Barn is actually a bar that has live music that reverberates throughout the loft, making it difficult to sleep before midnight. Definitely not recommended for kids. Thankfully, the music never went past midnight so it was possible to get a decent amount of sleep, but then the mattress was rather lumpy.
