UR-NEST Piazza Maggiore

I loved my stay at this apartment for 2 weeks in Bologne. I met the host at the Mango shop on via Rizzoli and the apartment is through a secured gateway nearby. There's a small lift up to the apartment floor. The apartment had everything I needed for my stay. The kitchen has a microwave, fridge, cooker; the bathroom is huge and includes a washing machine and spacious shower. The bed was comfortable and there was plenty of storage space. The sitting/dining area was exactly as shown in the photos. While there were 2 large windows, there isn't a huge amount of natural light as there are buildings directly opposite, especially in the kitchen but as I was out most of the day, this wasn't an issue for me. There was some street noise and there was a party either in the apartment building or in the nearby pub on one of the nights but again, not a big deal for me! I loved the central location - opposite Piazza Maggiore and within easy walking distance of the train station (about 20 mins walk). Lots of shops and restaurants all around - I was spoiled for choice! I felt very safe both in and around the area. Just one thing to note, I couldn't book a taxi at the weekend as via Rizzoli is pedestrianised from late Friday night until Monday morning but there is a taxi rank on the far side of Piazza Maggiore or the bus stop to the train station was about 10 minutes walk away. Also the bins for the apartment are across the main street.

I wasn't aware of the EUR300 deposit required on arrival but it was returned promptly after my departure.

AC didn’t work and nobody informed us on time to change the booking

It should be mentioned that the apartment is in a great location, close to Piazza Maggiore and the Neptune Fountain. Despite being in the city center, the apartment is quiet. It’s a modern, newly built unit with a comfortable bed. However, on two out of four days, there was NO HOT WATER—only lukewarm. The bathroom was MOLDY, which is unacceptable and disgusting. They provide a separate guide for check-out, and we took out the trash every day ourselves, since we were responsible for cleaning it and didn’t want any deductions from the €300 DEPOSIT!!. The apartment isn’t cheap, so perhaps full cleaning service could be included. .

We arrived in Bologna at 8 AM, and during our earlier correspondence at the time of booking, the host confirmed that we could check in at 9 AM without any extra charge. However, shortly before our arrival, we were notified that the apartment would only be available from 3 PM. Our booking was from Wednesday to Sunday, yet on Friday we received a message with instructions for check-out. Then on Saturday at 10 AM, we got another message stating that we had to leave the apartment that very day. We called them at that point, as we basically was informed that we need to leave the flat earlier... and they said it was a mistake and an automatic message.

The location

There was dust and dishes and glasses not so clean. The quality of the appliances for breakfast was very cheap. The kitchen extremely small. It was impossible to prepare even breakfast.
