Glyfa Corfu Apartments

I stayed at this beautiful apartment with my son and we had such a lovely experience. From the start, communication with the owner was excellent, friendly, fast, and helpful. We arrived earlier than expected, and they kindly allowed us to check in early, which was a huge relief after traveling with a young child. The location is peaceful and perfect for a relaxing holiday. There’s a beach just downstairs and a clean, well-maintained swimming pool that we both enjoyed every day. The apartment itself was spotless and very comfortable. A big thank you to the kind cleaning lady, who went above and beyond to make us feel at home and always checking in and providing fresh towels. Even though we originally thought we would have a full sea view, it turned out to be a partial view but still lovely. The balconies are spacious and a great place to relax at any time of day. The nearby Glyfa Beach is a small, quiet stretch and has crystal-clear turquoise water, tucked just below the taverna. It’s calm and great for swimming or snorkeling, but there are no public facilities or shade, so it’s best enjoyed by those dining at the taverna who can use their sunbeds and beach service. Water shoes are recommended.

The nearest mini market is about a 10-minute walk away on a road without a sidewalk, which can be a bit tricky with kids. It would be great if a few basics were available on arrival or an option to pre-order an essentials pack. Just a small note for future guests: the gate near the apartments can be quite loud when it slams shut, especially at night. It tends to wake people up who are staying in the units closest to it. If you’re coming back late, please try to close it gently, it really helps others get a good night’s sleep. There’s a taverna right next door with delicious food and free sunbeds for customers, but there are a few things to be aware of. Prices are very high for Corfu, and the portions are quite small. If you want a sunbed, go early as many are reserved for those with lunch bookings. The staff tends to prioritize large groups who spend a lot on drinks, so smaller parties might not receive the same level of service. The atmosphere can also be a bit intense, with staff often shouting at each other. For families, note that there’s no kids’ menu, you’ll end up ordering a plain (and overpriced) chicken fillet. If you’re looking for more dining options, Barbati has many great restaurants with better prices and often larger portions. Overall, we had a fantastic stay and would absolutely return. Highly recommended!

Unfortunately the property is prone to large groups, There was a group leaving as we arrived and there was one returning from a night out in the early hours creating a lot of drunken noise.
