Bird Paradise In Bush setting

Quiet location, easy parking, short drive into Bendigo.

Very clean and comfortable rooms with lots to offer.

Shower water pressure. Towels etc freshly laundered. Host (Lucy) was very friendly.

Way overpriced for what it actually is. This property was booked over our other options (a holiday cabin or a Quest apartment- both were cheaper) -because “Bird Paradise & mini farm” was something different and appealed to us. – We didn’t read the reviews -have now- especially the older ones-toilet door now fixed. We discussed going elsewhere but we stayed because the bungalow was very clean- outside surrounds were pleasant - it was an OK place to stay, but it was way overpriced and over advertised for what it actually is. Being priced more than a Quest apartment we certainly expected much more. Parking was on the street – This property is a house block with the house towards the front of the block and bungalow at the rear. The block back was heavily treed with numerous paths and areas with tables/chairs. The path to the bungalow was a trip hazard - started off reasonable (although uneven) near the house but quickly became a narrow path of uneven levels of flat and raised and broken bricks, pavers, rocks, trees and tree roots with at least one raised step. We had trouble wheeling our overnight bags along the path and Lucy carried them for us as well as when leaving the property. The bungalow – was a clean open room with the bathroom/laundry walled off. The furniture was old and repainted. At one end of the bungalow - the bedroom end- a large bed is in the corner with access only from one side. Tea, coffee, sugar and shampoo were supplied- in half full containers and jars - there was also a bottle of Listerine. (Thankfully we had our own goods). The “mini farm” consisted of -numerous adult rabbits and a chicken/rooster in one covered in pen- with a section with baby rabbits. At the back of the block was a small, penned area with 1 sheep and approx. 6 chickens.
