Cascais Bay Terrace ii

The location of this apartment (if you don’t mind the noise from the restaurant or constant smell of fish from it at the rear of the apartment) is great. My two little girls loved popping over the road everyday to play in the sea and go to the beach.

We stopped here for 3 nights in peak August season, so we expected to pay high prices, but what we got for price we paid wasn’t great value for money. Particularly when I compare it against our accommodation in Lisbon for the previous nights. 

The apartment is a bit run down and tired, desperately in need of some TLC and updating. Simple things like light bulbs not working, a wobbly dining room table, grubby walls, scuffed wardrobes and possibly the worst bed I have slept in! Rock solid double bed, everything has been done to maximise profit. All in all, it’s a real shame as this place could be simply amazing with very little effort, some new furniture and a lick of paint would be a good start! Maybe they will do this in the off-season?

I wouldn’t stay here again, purely based on poor value for money, I have never stopped somewhere so expensive to receive so little in return, and I am frequent business and leisure traveller.

The apartment has no parking (which is stated in the listing), but it can prove challenging for dropping bags, but there is a good nearby open air car park by the park that is about €30 a day and about a 5 minute walk.

The location was excellent.

This property is very noisy throughout the night as there is a restaurant below the property that is active through the night into the early hours. I am a light sleeper and did not have a single good night sleep for our entire 7 day stay.

The location couldnt be better, view over the bay is gorgeous. Baby cot was arranged last minute and personnel lady was very friendly. Furnishing is partly updated from the pics and main balcony furniture was a nice surprise!

The sound isolation in the building is not too good, there is a restaurant in the bottom floor and the sounds from the kitchen (and from other apartments) are well heard. Beds need updating, thin mattresses at least on top of the actual mattress. You can feel the strings while sleeping. Bedroom balconies doesnt have any furniture. Bathroom shower switch was broken and there isnt any hooks for clothing or towels. Also bathroom door handle is still broken, was mentioned in the past reviews. The apartment is very nice but with this price level it didnt fully meet our expectations.

The location was AMAZING! Sitting in the balcony watching the world go by, and enjoying the fabulous view !

The lights in the second bedroom didn’t work, and the bathroom door handle was broken.
