Great location and super host! Clean and spacious apartment

Very spacious and comfortable flat in the city center, still in a quiet area. Easy check-in and we could even drop of our luggage before the time, since the flat was already available.

The flat is not very sound proof so you could clearly hear people walking in the upper floor.

The apartment is located in the city center of Funchal, very close to all of the important attractions, restaurants, shops (we were particularly satisfied with Pingo Doce being on the other side of the street :)), beaches, public transport etc., but it was very quite inside, so we could've easily rest in there. The place itself is designed with taste and offers everything that's needed for both shorter and longer stays. The host, Vanessa, is an extremely nice person, always helpful, flexible and ready to recommend some restaurants or other attractions in the city. All in all, I could definitely recommend to stay there if you're looking for a comfy place in the center with good value for money.

There's no parking available, but that's pretty common in the center of Funchal as the space is very limited. That's not a big problem, though, as you may reach most of the interesting places by foot or by bus if it's a bit further from the center.

The flat's location in Funchal was absolutely fantastic. It was conveniently situated near the main bus lines, making it easy to explore the city and its surroundings. The central location meant we had easy access to various attractions, restaurants, and shops. It was a perfect base for our adventures in Madeira. The cleanliness of the flat was remarkable. It was evident that great care had been taken to ensure a spotless environment for guests. From the moment we stepped in, we were greeted by a fresh and tidy space, which instantly made us feel at home. The flat itself was incredibly spacious, providing ample room for relaxation and movement. It had all the necessary amenities we needed for a comfortable stay. The inclusion of air conditioning was a big plus, especially during the warm days, and the reliable Wi-Fi connection allowed us to stay connected throughout our trip. Vanessa, the host, was exceptionally helpful and went above and beyond to make our stay memorable. She provided us with excellent recommendations for local restaurants, ensuring that we could indulge in the best culinary experiences Madeira has to offer. Her friendly and accommodating nature added a personal touch to our overall stay.

Honestly, there wasn't much to dislike about this flat. The experience was overwhelmingly positive, and I couldn't find any major drawbacks during my stay.

We had stayed at two other Ivens apartments and this was well below previous standards. The price for the Vintage apartment is poor value. Poor privacy in bedroom without curtains pulled all the time. Absolutely nothing by way tea/coffee/condements etc

Great location and security, very spacious apartment with good air-con, bed and sofa very comfortable. Well equipped kitchen, although I barely used it. TV in the bedroom as well as the living area. I would happily book this accommodation again for my next trip to Madeira.

No obvious place e.g. towel rails to hang towels (to dry) in the kitchen or bathroom. Couldn't find a clothes drying rack in the apartment, which would have been useful as I did some washing during my stay. These were only minor inconveniences, however, as there were workarounds.

the location was superb! we appreciated being within walking distance to everything we needed. the apartment was very clean and well kept.

people staying in the unit above were noisy. also slamming main door was disruptive.
