Sogno Barocco

The biggest advantage of Sogno Barocco is its central but quiet location. Catania center is really close, it takes around 5 mins to get to the cathedral and number of great bars and restaurants. The owner is very friendly and helpful.

Placed perfectly in the centre, <10 minutes of walking from Piazza Borselino bus station, <10 minutes of two supermarkets. Calm street ending by stairs so no noise of passing cars. Clean, with kitchen, washing machine..

At the beginning I have found it bizarre that a lot of accomodations in the city of Catania have the street with pavement and the whole traffic just behind the doors of the flat. That is why that particular accomodation with nearly no traffic outside is worth to be recommended..

The apartment was beautiful clean and spacious. The kitchen was well equipped (also with herbs and snacks) Giuseppe was kind, available, gave us recommendations and was helpful with everything we needed. Wi-Fi was great, the street was quiet yet still very close to the city center. There are 2 ways to get to the apartment, one with a bit of a steep climb ( via Alessandro manzoni), the other was easier to navigate and also had great views and restaurants(via crociferi)

Host was super helpful and waited for us after check-in hours to deliver the keys, talked to us about city attractions and offered us a chance to perform a late check-out. Apartment had everything we could need: washer, WIFI, TV, gas hob/oven, fridge w/freezer, etc. Location was great, 2 blocks away from via Etnea and 5 from Piazza Duomo.

Located in a VERY steep street and sidewalk is around a meter above street level, to take into account for the elderly. Door and windows are not sound proof, people/birds outside can be heard, although cars do not frequent the street. No air exit on the back so air did not flow, causing washed clothes not to dry easily. Beds were on the hard side.

The location is very good, close to everything. Checkin and chekout was easy and smooth. The place was very clean.

The bed was too firm. There are no windows at this place.

The location, in the centre of the old town, but a quiet place as on a dead end road. Possibility to heat the room. Many brochures and city map in the room.

Breakfast: there is stuff like butter, packed bread, jam, juce... in the room, but you prepare your breakfast and wash the dishes. I was expecting breakfast at a near bar or somewhere in the house (it is not a B&B). The apartment was one big room, except for the bathroom. There is enough space for 4 and the convertible couch I slept on was very comfortable (really). The room has a door (with window) to the street, but no window. It is on the ground floor. I guess in summer it could be a comfortable cool place. The first impression was not so good, but it got better during the week. The owner is friendly and tries to help. PS: There is a nice Cafeteria on top of the stairs on the right, Villaroel. Friendly people and good food and Cocktails.

The sofa bed was not comfortable at all.

Cosy and clean. Very close to the Piazza Duomo but placed in the silent street. Well communicated. Giuseppe is really very helpful and gives a lot of useful tips.
