Sea View Apartment

Apartmán bol malý, avšak pre dvoch postačujúci. Keďže sme boli v januári, klimatizácia veľmi dobre vykúrila celý apartmán. Majiteľka Luise s nami komunikovala ešte pred príchodom a prišla v dohodnutý čas. Apartmán sme mali na najvyššom poschodí, majiteľka nás upozornila na veľa schodov.Veľmi dobrá poloha , cca 5 minút pešo na vlakovú aj autobusovú stanicu, blízko do centra, Výhľad z malého balkóna bol na železnicu a more, v lete istotne veľmi príjemný.

Stairs was just too hard for older people and trying to lug bags up and down stairs

Part 1/2 of the review: We stayed in the apartment on the first floor, directly above pizza restaurant for three nights. The stay in this apartment was not very comfortable for the following reasons: - Low ceilings, just about 2 m. The apartment felt quite claustrophobic - Heat: the apartment was very hot. Opening windows helped a bit, but then there is a very noisy street in front of apartment. Therefore, it is impossible to sleep with windows open. Sleeping room also has an AC, the AC is unfortunately also quite loud, so you can not sleep with AC on either. We wanted to go for evening walk to cool down apartment before we go to bed. This was not possible since to have electricity in apartment you needed to put a card into a slot (similar like what you usually need to do in the hotels). The card is on the key ring and you can not remove it from there. - Fridge – was not working well, for example it could not cool down water as you would expect. Besides this it was also quite loud. Luckly, you can at least close door between bedroom and kitchen. - Payment was possible only in cash. In the booking confirmation there was no information we need to pay in cash. Also, after I received confirmation from booking.com, the landlord sent message to ask about the check-in time. But she did not mention about the cash payment. Her argument was that she has issue with banks because she is moving to a different bank. In older review from 2024 I found that other people also were told the same excuse argument.

Part 2/2 of the review: After the booking confirmation, we received message from landlord about which apartment we booked – the one on the first floor without the sea view. We don’t need view on the sea therefore we decided for this one. Here is the copy of that message: “Thank you very much for your stay in Catania. Read more about our details. Since there are two different apartments please make sure that your reservation is correct because One bedroom apartment does not have a sea view that is on the first floor, whilst the Sea view apartmenthas it that it is on the third floor. Could you please inform us about your arrival time?” To finish on the bright side: the landlord was easily to contact and to arrange check-in time. She also gave us some tips. The pizza restaurant below the apartment has good pizzas and the location of apartment is very close to the train station, what was great for us. And lesson learned for next time, always read the worst reviews to get better picture about the apartment. If few of them are saying the same thing, then for sure there is an issue with apartment. I hope this review will help others to make right decision if this specific apartment (first floor, without sea view) is good choice for their stay in Catania.

En arrivant le monsieur qui nous a accueilli très sympathique. Appart très bien. Et près de la vielle ville. Séjours très bien.

It was impossible to use WiFi. Host couldn't solve the problem.
