Very good location to explore the south part of the island. Very close to the apartment is a bus stop so, we didn't have to use a car to visit Funchal (the driver could taste Madeira vine in the Funchal 😍). 5-minute walk are located good restaurants (We recommend this one https://www.facebook.com/traineirarestaurantemarisqueira.) The apartment was clean and well-equipped at least there was everything that we needed. Very nice and helpful host.

The owner meet us and showed all the property around. Everything was clean and nice. You could find everything you need for your stay.

Well equipped, clean apartment with everything we might have needed in the kitchen. The host was friendly and easy to reach, never had an issue with communication even prior to our trip. We were welcomed on the premises at the time of our arrival and we were allowed some extra time at check-out and could leave the keys at the apartment. The balcony was an absolute blast! We were there in February, so not much mosquitos, but 20 degrees, sunshine and a nice breeze. :) Parking was always available both underground in the garage and on the backyard as well - we preferred the second options as it was less steep to access. Canico itself has not much to offer, but it is a quiet, clean neighborhood and a 12 min drive from both Funchal and the Airport, however most of the things to do was either in the heart of the island or at the northern part, so be ready to drive around. There are restaurants nearby (we recommend Klenks Cafe instead of La Carbonara) and multiple grocery stores.

I've read in the comments that soundproofing is poor but did not really know what to expect, and did not worry since we are both good sleepers. So the thing is, that you can hear EVERYTHING from the neighboring flats. Even when their dog is walking around you will feel like something is walking within your own room. :D We were out most of the time and no parties were happening during our stay, but I can see this being a huge issue if you are a light sleeper or more sensitive to the surrounding noises.

The location was perfect. The terrace was large and had an overhead canopy which meant you could still sit out when it was raining.

The location was good. High-rated restaurants around the area, a shop and bus stop nearby. Parking available in underground garage. The apartment itself was spacious and with a large balcony it was very pleasant.

All sorts of external sounds could be heard well, the bed was old.
