Apartment - The Historical Center of Funchal in Alojamento Local

Proximity, well equipped and very clean.

Een mooi, schoon appartement, aan de rand van de oude stad. Zee en zwemgelegenheid aan het einde van de straat, dichtbij restaurants, bussen en kabelbaan.

Todo, muy bien equipado, buena localización. La cama principal muy cómoda. Baño amplio. Cocina con todo lo necesario.

Sofá cama un poco incómodo.

Great location, very easy walk to the restaurants and bars in the old town. There was also a lido at the bottom of the street where we could go for a swim. The apartment had everything we needed.

Nothing.

Nearly perfect. Cristina, the host, waited for us to give us the keys and show us around which was very nice and helpful. The location of this apartment is perfect, you are right in the centre of Funchal, next to the coast, walking distance to cafes, restaurants, shops etc - it can't be better. The big advantage is the garage and parking your car in it, once you get used to it, it is easy, as the space is in fact very big. The apartment has very well equipped kitchen, crockery, cutlery, espresso machine (and some capsules for a few days, which was nice) - everything you need and a washing machine (old but working).

Not too many cons, and IMO, not very big. The drive down from the motorway is on some super steep and narrow streets - I guess after you have done it once, it is not that scary. When driving into the garage, drive on the extreme right - the ramp is steeper on the left hand side and I am positve I scratched the underside of the car when I was driving down the first time, but later it was fine. There is a bar at the end of the street (and it is cool) but a bit noisy sometimes. The design of the apartment is not very exciting, but it is functional. It would be nice to have more toilet paper and towels (we stayed there a week). Better pillows would perhaps be nice.

This apartment has a fully equipped kitchen and parking spot in the garage. The host, Cristina, is very friendly. She responded to requests right away.

This apartment is pretty close to the beach bar with night music. And since it doesn't have air conditioning, you have to open windows to get some fresh air. As a result you have to manage to sleep under Incredibly loud music and noise from the bar. It feels like a rock band is playing right in your room. Though even if you close all windows it won't help a lot because windows are not soundproof.
