Ropemaker Street Apartment

We had a great stay! It was clean and very cozy. Right in the Old town and close to everything. We will stay here again.

The location of an apartment is great. Nice big bedc and living area. We found even coffee and tea in a cupboard. Nice bathroom .

We had wired messages from the owner reminding us/ forcing us to use the app to open the door, entering the apartment was stressful because we couldn’t upload the app, we masterpieced it after 2 days. Good luck to older people not familiar with technology or if you don’t have an internet. The key was in a key lock by the entrance door. The owner let us only know about it when we messaged him that we can’t enter the apartment. The strange thing was that from 4.20pm till late evening we were getting messages to remind us to use the up not the key. My English friends felt very uncomfortable as it was our first evening and we really hoped to relax. It almost felt like we were watched as we were getting reminders after leaving the apartment. The next day early in the morning when we were woke up by a loud noise my friends thought that the host is entering the apartment while it was some building work going on in an upper apartment. Yes, we felt slightly paranoid as the messages and their timing was strange. A bank bed was wobbly and moved when you used a ladder to climb up. One of us was standing by it steady it when other was climbing. A lot of dust behind chest of drawers and under the bed. TV didn’t work.

The location was great! It was just down the block from everything. The only issue we had was that the closeness to the main street meant that some folks party late into the night and it can get noisy.

The noise in the evenings. Otherwise, it was good. I'm only typing to finish this section. It is silly that we have to write so much when the answer could be that there wasn't anything I disliked.

Lovely little flat, perfect for a family of 4. Well laid out, clean with everything you need for a week on holiday. In the old town and 100m from the main street but still quiet most of the time.

Not the flats fault but loud inconsiderate tourists who think shouting down the street after a few drinks is OK when the pubs kick out. Most of the time this is a very quiet street though.

All good things, it is just in the middle of old town, yet so calm and peaceful neighborhood. Excellent for couples or small family, clean, spacious, and comfortable stay, very responsive host.

The sofa is a bit uncomfortable, but who cares.

Great appartment, bigger than we thought. Perfect for 4 adults, if two of them don't mind sleeping in a bunkbed. The location couldn't be better, right in the centre! Contact with owner was supereasy, and you get an app to open the door.

The double bed is a bit uncomfortable, because it moves a lot when somebody moves a tiny bit. Would be great for heavy sleepers ;-)

Located in old town.

We have small kids and chose property based on all amenities listed in the description of apartment and what it provides. However a lot of things weren’t actually provided although listed as available. Owner is rude in his responses and instead responding with arguments dishing out sarcasm and more incorrect statements. One example of dealing. Owners would not provide replacement for a kettle that stopped working. They demanded from us (family with toddlers) to commit to stay in flat and await for courier to deliver new one. Why would I want to sacrifices my family’s holiday time, where they should bring replacement and access flat themselves whilst we are out, as we didn’t prohibit it. There was no child highchair which made meal times a lot less convenient than we wanted as for our youngest toddler. There was no tumble dryer, owner was adamant a clothes drying rack provided is good enough substitute. Not if we packed enough clothes based on fact that there should be a tumble dryer and we can quickly wash and dry clothes. And a few more things. As for city view don’t expect a lot, although this one was the least of a problem for us, just another inaccurate description. But heavy machines and street work starts after 7am on weekdays. Plus street cameras and camera from the opposite building face straight into apartment’s windows.

Excellent location; comfortable space; clean; liked the large window you can open in the bathroom; washing machine worked, we liked the app to open and close the door, it worked perfectly.

There was not enough toilet paper for 5 people for 3 days; the towels offered were one per person and very scratchy and rough; No salt or pepper in the kitchen which would have been so nice to have.

Very good location. Cosy, spacious. Generally everything you need for family's stay in such a lovely town of Gdansk.
