Old Catania Terrace

Valentina was a good, helpful host and even left. Bottle of wine for us. The location was in walking distance weveruthing.

The location was very dirty, smelly and appeared unsafe. The parking was atrocious and we were scared to leave the car. The streets surrounding are very dirty. Entering the apartment/building there were 2 flights of stairs and there was an unpleasant smell and poor lighting. The apartment itself was old and poorly set out with bathrooms. Couldn’t open the balcony doors in our bedrooms due to excessive noise from the street which started early in the morning till late at night. We booked and paid for 5 nights but left after 2. The images on the site do not truly reflect the apartment conditions.

A little thing but the shared access is dark and it is unclear what switch is the light or which is a door bell. As such on separate occasions two of us rang the neighbours door and the old man next door was not happy.

The host Valentina was extremely helpful when she popped around soon after we arrived, gave us loads of information and direction, and she constantly checked in with us and answered any of our queries by phone very swiftly. The place was beautifully decorated with nice bits of extras in the kitchen and bathrooms and the cakes gift were fab. Wouldn't dream of staying anywhere else if revisiting Catania in the future. Thanks you so much Valentina for all your help.

The only downside of our visit was the public spaces/streets around the apartment being very dirty and messy. Not the hosts fault of course but perhaps some of this was because there was a festival in progress while we were there.
