Great location with parking space, very clean and comfortable apartment which had a well equipped kitchen. Amie and the team were very responsive and let us check in early which was a bonus!

Breakfast rating not applicable as self catered Appreciated the pint of milk put in the fridge on our arrival and the toilet rolls given. The fridge freezer was a good size . The little bit of heat that came on automatically was appreciated.

More teaspoons and mugs needed . Especially if wanting to use the dishwasher Shower room radiator not working to dry towels.shelf above sink was loose and tilted so things slid off

We stayed in Flat 3 at Chaucer's Retreat, and it really exceeded our expectations. Firstly, the location is excellent, with Keswick's high street and cinema just a short walk away from the flat. The flat was clean and well-equipped, and we felt right at home staying for a week. We appreciated the little details, like the visitor's book that was left on the dining table. We did a lot of our own cooking, and the kitchen was full of every kind of cooking utensil you could want.

It's hard to find fault with our stay at Chaucer's Retreat, but it is worth bearing in mind that this is a basement flat. Whilst this wasn't an issue for us and natural light was sufficient, I think some people may be put off by this. The flat, whilst very pleasant and modern, may not be ideal for people wanting a more 'traditional' stay in a Cumbrian cottage - bear this in mind!

Ventilation fans in the bathrooms were very loud, couldn’t put the light on during the night if needed as it would have woken the other up

No electrical outlets for hairdryer near bed/bathroom mirror, only a tiny table in living area with other things on it
