Perfect homely atmosphere, not like all those shady commercial hotels around there. Just opposite kali Temple as mentioned. Local transports are readily available and the metro was quite near too

Cannot be found. Hence there is no hotel name of apartment. Went wandering in circles looking for this place. If it does exist then probably only for locals as there are on a few places that allow foreigners. They cancelled my stay last minute. And no one in the area knew where it was, that's why I suspect illegal.

It's a worst decision to stay here. Owner was very cunning firstly he asked to cancel my booking through booking.com. Toilet jet was working foul water was coming. When I asked his assistance without any check he told plumber is not available. He literally made his mother memorise sentences what to tell to me regarding plumber thing. Literally inappropriate and dubious stay. These people wasted and ruined my whole day. 2000 bucks for such dirty place, better stay at some lodge or guest house. I checked out within 4 hours and this guy doesn't has the audacity to return my half money or do some compensation. Instead he was mocking me for leaving the apartment just because jet was not working. I never have experienced such kind of unwelcoming behaviour anywhere. Worst experience ever. I would suggest everyone to stay away from staying at such foul places.

Location was good.

Cleanliness is very poor. One room was not usable as there was very hot and no AC. Kitchen was very very dirty and left with dirty utensils.

The apartment is next to the Kali Temple. I was able to visit the temple before the crowd showed up and enjoyed a spontaneous Kirtan session by local musicians and devotees. Though the streets were chaotic, I felt safe as a solo traveler in the building and in the apartment.

The location is both a boon and a bane. The area gets noisy early in the morning and remain so throughout the day. There was much sudden loud noise in the neighborhood at night, which made a good night of sleep impossible for us. The washing machine on the balcony was too dusty to be touched; most things in the kitchen were covered with soot. The blanket had a strong off-putting smell. WIFI connection was sporadic and only available in the bedroom.
