Apartment Corona

Very large comfortable apartment. Great value and location. Close to the train station and Old Town. The bedroom I chose was the one with a nice queen bed and ensuite. The bathroom had a good shower. The washer was a bonus. Lovely, well equipped kitchen that was accompanied by a comfortable sitting area. WiFi was fast and consistent. Ela is a wonderful host that greeted me at the apartment. Ela communicates well with her guests. Highly recommended for solo, couples or families.

Location is great near train station, bus station and city center. Communication with owner was easy, se greeted me and gave keys as we agreed and I was so surprised that her son speaks Croatian very well. Apartment is old but have everything necessary for pleasant stay. Everything is as shown on photos.

The host was a very nice lady! I arrived early on that day and she just waited for me in the accommodation and gave me they key so that I could store my luggage there :) The apartment is very huge!!! It is big enough for a group of people! It is also reasonable close to the train/bus station and the city centre.

The bathroom is quite small, and there is no shelf for placing my shampoo, shower gel etc.

The apartment has an excellent location, less than ten minutes' walk from the main rail and bus stations and a similar distance from the Old Town, with plenty of shops, restaurants, bars, cafes etc. within a similar distance. The apartment, which is on a mezzanine just five steps from the ground floor, is easy to find (a sign outside says Corona Apartments) and very large, with a kitchen / diner / lounge area and two bedrooms - it also boasts three toilets, two showers and four bathroom sinks! Everything was clean and my host was lovely. The kitchen is well-equipped.

I arrived with no specific check-in instructions and there is no bell, but immediately after sending a message via WhatsApp, my host (who apparently lives upstairs) appeared. There should have been wi-fi, but I was given no log-in details and when I looked for a network, I found none (this wasn't an issue for me, as I have EU roaming and plenty of data, but it may be for some). The bed (there are four beds, but only one was prepared) is basically a sofa bed and leaves something to be desired in terms of comfort, plus there was no pillow protector. The curtains do not extend the full length of the windows, so there is light intrusion at night (the lighting in the bedroom is pretty harsh - a bedside lamp would be a good addition). The shower take a long time to heat up and the water temperature isn't constant. However, the biggest issue was the heating, which seems to be on a timer (it was always off when I returned to the room in the evening and came on around 7am, but only until 10am) and was set very low (the radiator can't be adjusted) so was insufficient for a big room with a high ceiling and the room was always cold (not freezing, but just a little colder than comfortable).

Great communication and responsive owner, comfortable bed, location really central.

Shower tends to let water out into bathroom due to design of curtains and bathroom, but easy enough to dry up with mats so only a small thing to note.
