"Awesome place to stay"

10.0

This place is awesome! We have stayed in many places in County Clare but this has been by far the best. Super clean, super comfortable, super quiet, spacious with all the facilities that anyone could possibly need, 10 minute walk to Lahinch. We will be back!

Nothing.

"An immaculately clean place where everything has been provided for your comfort"

9.0

This place was my longest booking, 4 days so that I could attend Lahinch's 1st Trad Music Festival (that being the reason for my trip from Scotland to Ireland). I liked the idea of being somewhere away from the crowd and very quiet so that I could prepare to play music again (after a gap of some years). Also, my idea was that when I needed to rest I could do so in a very quiet place away from everyone else. On arrival, I liked that the place was so SPARKLING CLEAN and that everything I needed to be comfortable was there (there was bread, jam,, milk and assorted cereals there for my use, there were two very LARGE soft towels in the bathroom. Plus, there was a great oil filled heater which quickly made the rooms very cosy). Also, a hard chair was quickly provided for me (at my request) so I could use that when sat playing the violin. What I liked the most about everything was that the host listened to what I had to say and went out of her way to find solutions which would make everything better. At one point, she even invited me to use the owner's large garage so I could play my violin in there undisturbed. So 10/10 for the host always trying to assist and going the extra mile with a smile :-) Lastly, I would mention that I liked the "blackout blinds", that may seem a strange thing to mention but the place was so full of light and sunshine when I was there. I was so tired that there were a couple of afternoons where I wanted to take a nap and the blinds really worked to shut out the light so they were a great bonus. Trad Music Festivals can be very tiring and this place certainly delivered in giving me a restful base from which I could go out from and maximise my time at the festival. Indeed, my thanks to the host for the assistance she gave in making my stay so comfortable.

Arriving totally exhausted, after a huge and stressful journey from the south of Ireland - I was very surprised to realise that the apartment was actually part of the same house which the owner stayed in. I had booked to have my own space so I had misunderstood that only a locked internal door was between my rooms and theirs. I wanted to play the violin whenever I wanted to (at any time of day or night) so I immediately realised that this would NOT be appropriate. The host could not have been more accommodating but nevertheless, I felt I should confine my playing to the afternoon. Not wanting to feel I was intruding on their space, I never used the living room but that too was my choice. I also would mention that I was surprised by the proximity of the road and just how busy it was BUT, in all fairness, I did find that I quickly became used to this and the noise was NOT invasive. Also, how quick it was to travel from this house to the seafront and, at the end, to set of for Shannon airport. I mention what I first saw as negatives because the host went out of her way to address what she could and that has to be admired and respected. Accordingly, I would highly recommend the place to others as it was so clean, comfortable and near Lahinch if a person wanted to leave their car and walk in (everything was not more than a few minutes walk away so the place is in a very good location in that respect). A small PS: would be the place where the keys were stored. I put in the code and tried to open it. I've never used one of these before and thought something had gone wrong. All that was needed was a good tug to open it. So, no big deal but (being careful not to break anything) I had tried to open it but not pulled hard enough - worth mentioning that so no one else made the error I had. (After having spent a day driving I think my hands were weak to tug it open). So, not a problem but good to know

Delightful, friendly and communicative host living next door. Apartment was stylish, comfy, bright and spotless. Very cosy with everything you'd need, including a great view and a thoughtful welcome pack on arrival. Walking distance from the town. Would highly recommend.
