Hermes Apartment -1

The owner has a beautiful back garden with several kittens and bunnies, and my children enjoy playing with the animals

Excellent instructions to enter the apartment. Barbara was very good and quick to respond on WhatsApp. Easy parking outside the property. LIDL supermarket across the road is convenient if you are preparing your own food. Oranges and lemons grow in the courtyard in February. Outside space if you are there on a sunny day (not likely in February! :-)). A view of the fortress from the front bedrooms. Comfy double bed with blackout blinds in the main bedroom. Sofa beds in the lounge were fine for the kids, but no way to block out the morning daylight. Small TV which you can hook up to with an HDMI cable. Wifi was good.

Location is not as close as I imagined to the charming centre of Napflio - it's either a 30 minute walk down a main arterial road or a 5-minute drive. In the kitchen, there was just enough utensils to make a basic dinner and squeeze some orange juice for breakfast. Having no tea or coffee in the property was a disappointment - it would only cost a few cents for the host to offer a couple of tea bags or sachets of Nescafe to welcome guests, but no, I was told to buy my own. I recommend that the owners reconsider this decision. The property has a small bathroom, with a small bathtub and a handheld shower head connected. If a nice, long shower is important to wake you up in the morning, this place does not have it. Finally, the cost was too high for low season - 80 euros for the night. While the apartment was passable, compared to other places we stayed in Greece, this did not represent good value for money, in our opinion. We didn't get a WOW feeling when we arrived, and leaving without a shower and a coffee mean that I left disappointed with our stay.

Perfect for 4-5 people. The apartment was very very clean and with all the necessary amenities. Huge terrace with an amazing view of the castle. Easy parking and a LIDL just in front of the property. Great location about 15 min walk from the old town. We really loved everything!

The host Barbara was so kind, and made us feel comfortable. She lives on the premises so when we locked ourselves out, she was there to rescue us. The place was not glitzy (that is why we chose it) and had everything we needed. This unit is on the top floor( above the other two Hermes units) with it's own large private deck, a view of the internal courtyard, Palamidi fortress, and Lidl supermarket. No issues parking in the street anytime of the day. Free use of her washing machine and then we hung out laundry to dry on the clothes rack on the deck. Note that you have to like cats to stay here, which we do. There were five, maybe more, that greeted us daily. Having Lidl supermarket next door was convenient. No noise issues. Highly recommend Hermes and would definitely stay there again.

It could have been closer to Old Town. It's possible to walk to Old Town but will probably take 20 or more minutes. We had a car so we drove instead, but prefer to walk when we can. After walking a full day in old town, it would be quite a hike to walk back.

The effusive Barbara hits you full on but she ia very helpful Nafplion is a great town both for visiting sites including its own Palamidi and some superb little restaurants.

Cosy apartment, very convenient for those with cars

It’s a large apartment with 2 bedrooms, 1 bath and kitchen. It has a very large patio and small balcony off a bedroom.

Our host was lovely. The apartment was spacious and clean. All facilities were fine and there was street parking outside. kids loved their rabbits!

Not really a negative as such, but being opposite a supermarket (which is handy), it can be a little busy with traffic noise.
