The place is very clean and newly renovated. Finding the key was simple, and the neighbors were very quiet. The interior is cozy and comfortable, making for a pleasant stay.

Getting there with a bulky van was a bit tricky due to the narrow alleys, but we were able to manage.

"Comfortable and well priced home for several nights. It was almost perfect."

7.0

Nice, clean home. Well equipped with necessities and a convenient location with grocery or convenience stores just a few minutes away by car.

A neighbor's dog was barking all night for the 1st 2 nights. I informed the owner and someone went to talk to the neighbor right away. The neighbor was very sorry about the barking dog and it was because he had to work the graveyard shift the previous nights so he wasn't aware.

Very homely, clean and roomy for three of us. Excellent WiFi, comfy beds and luxurious doonas. Nicely renovated. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

"Unique, authentic (nostalgic) experience, but maybe a challenge for foreigners."

This one is a special place: You're staying at an old (wooden) Japanese style home. It is well kept considering its age, but due to its age, there is poor insulation (I stayed in December so it was as cold as 0°C at night), thin walls, low doorframes (I hit my head a couple of times because I'm 185cm). The three rooms are heated by the AC, which works sufficiently, your feet might get a bit cold if you run barefoot (slippers are provided). The hot water comes almost immediately when you turn on the shower. There is a lot of space and a (roofed) private parking spot just in front of the large window of the tatami-room. Others wrote that the place is difficult to find: For me it was very simple as it's the only white building and there is a small sign with it's name right next to the door.

The washing machine is located outside (below a small roof) and some leaves had fallen inside, so I didn't use it. For non-japanese people who are not experienced to this kind of stay, handling everything might be a bit difficult (e.g. you have to power on the heating for warm water - which is just the push of a button away, but it's not labeled in English) - for me this was fine, but if you are a first time traveler: Be aware of this or ask the host to show you. The Internet is provided using a pocket Wifi - this is handy because you can carry it with you during your stay, but it's noticable slower than usual (phone-line/fibre based) Wifi. For browsing and checking e-mails it's fine. If you want to stream high resolution movies it might be lagging sometimes. Getting there from the train station is quite a walk, with a lot of luggage you might prefer taking a cab (600-800 yen).
