Now I am no longer in Portugal, and, unafraid of consequences from the landlord, I can honestly tell about the worst rental experience through booking.com in 10 years. It all started when we booked this room and, in the reservation, it was possible to specify that you would pay the rent on-site; at the same time you enter your card details, and booking checks them and allows the reservation. After check-in we met with the apartment owner; he asked us to make the payment for the rent. We showed him our app in English and, together with him, tried to find a payment button in the app. It wasn’t there. We entered the details of another card, which also had funds in the account, and in this case booking showed no payment buttons for us, and the owner had no payment buttons in his app to charge either. He saw all this. At the same time it was impossible to refuse to pay by card and pay in cash. Together with the owner we decided that booking itself would automatically charge the card at night. But that didn’t happen. The next morning I wrote to the owner that the money hadn’t been charged and that I had written to booking support to resolve the problem. After that the owner went off the rails. Here are his exact words: You have to make the payment in cash...that's what you should have done, withdrawn the money 10:17 ••• They won't solve anything if you don't enter your card details. 10:26 10:27 Is this your first time hosting through Bookin?? It seems like it •0• This situation must be resolved by check out time. After that I wrote to him what booking support had answered me and explained that the owner had marked our payment as unpaid (they still couldn’t explain the reason—booking was able to validate both cards and there was money on them) and that booking would take a cancellation fee on 4 June in the amount of our payment.

Diogo came and happily helped us find the location, friendly and helpful. Comfortable stay with all we needed, clean. Great view from the balcony, great feature for the lowest floor.

The hot water was not stable, and cold water started half way through the shower. The boiler might have to be looked at.

We liked the location, the secured garage, the large space in the rooms. Pity we were there in cold low-season, the flat must be great for young people surfing and not fearing cold.

It was very cold and there was no way to warm up a bit the bathrooms or the sitting-room. There was no hot water.
