Mont Rouge Cottage

Lovely cottage on a farm with amazing views of the mountains etc

The little bungalow was a delight. A fireplace to heat up the room kept me warm all weekend. The babbling brook was more of a raging river after all the rain but it was still peaceful. Wonderful orchards to wander around with my dog.

Wifi was very erratic, curtains on the glass wall would have been helpful as the kingfishers kept flying into the glass.

the hot tub is great with a good view. Multiple fireplaces. walks in the area was pretty. The bread gift was a good touch. Good breakaway.

The bath not warmed prior to arrival- as many other similar places will do this. tub is also shallow. Thought that the property was not cleaned thoroughly.

location and the farm

indoor braai made everything stink of smoke including our bath towels even though we didn’t use the indoor braai. dishes and crockery had thick dust on it. no wood. no warmth - no rug next to the beds. shower was more like a mist - nozzles need a clean. drain in bathroom stank!

The house layout (Cottage 4) was great and very well stocked. Location was good with nice indoor braai area. Kol Kol Hot Tub was excellent.

Wood is not included which is often standard with accommodation that has a Kol Kol, especially if it is on a farm. No lights in the kol kol / outdoor braai area.
