Apartment Michalis by the Sea

The best thing about this property is the view by the balcony and the host Michaelis who leaves no stone unturned in looking after you. He is very proactive in reaching out, arranged taxi from airport to the place (although the driver was a bit dodgy who charged 5£ more than the discussed amount £20) and agreed to keep our luggage safe after the checkout timings. The property itself is loaded with everything and is quite spacious , all necessary amenities are there (tea, coffee to go with kettle , fridge, iron,etc). The host gives you lot of suggestions of nearby cafes and restaurants which are cheap as well.

Nothing about the property but the beach itself in the area doesn’t give out a true picture of Greece beaches (not one of the best ones). Its very crowded and not very well maintained.

Very good place to stay for those travelling on a budget. Large, comfortable, eclectically furnished apartment with separate lounge room. Clean, well set up and equipped kitchen, good size fridge, fly screens and reliable air con. On 3rd floor few steps to get to the lift. Through flow breeze off the water and marble floors kept this apartment naturally cool. Extensive water views and pleasing beach atmosphere. Enjoyed watching the windsurfers from the balcony. After travelling in Greece for two months appreciated the home feel of this apartment. Bakery below has a delicious selection. Right of the apartment and along the waterfront are several lovely affordable restaurants. Ask Michalis where to eat. Michalis can also organise transfers to Athens airport or Rafina for your ferry.

A this price I rate this as a very good place to stay. Appreciated English being spoken. The hospitality and local knowledge of Michalis makes him a standout host.

Easy to get to, he helped to arrange for a taxi transportation to and from the airport. I loved that it was literally on the beach, and I could go straight from the airport to the ocean. It was wonderful! I would recommend to anybody who is looking for a nice, quiet place close to the Athens airport.

The kitchen light didn't work, and at first couldn't figure out the WiFi. But once we got that sorted everything was super easy! Also a note - that the elevator is super small.

Incredible views of the sunrise over the sea. It was in close proximity to great restaurants and the beach was just out the backdoor. Awesome!

Nothing. Once we found the location, we made a phone call and our host met us within minutes.

The Host was very responsive and no wait to get in to unit. The apartment was spacious, well equipped and served its purpose. The beach was very nice. The Beach restaurant Coava is very close nearby and is GREAT and affordable (no seafood-but good)-Coava. The airport was 20 minutes away by taxi-use uber-costs ($20-$28) which is less than drivers will tell you.

I did not like: No top sheet on the bed or in cabinets-I cannot imagine a rental host washing all of the comforters between guests so not having a top sheet was a disappointment by the time we realized it was too late to request Also, 2 more pillows would help to offset the typically uncomfortable Greek mattress. The furniture was covered up in blankets and so many fake flowers and knick-knacks everywhere. The building itself could use some tender loving care, maintenance and cleaning. It had a completely dark entry at night (no lights in building) and the building access door to beach was propped open which seems risky as the Artemida area is very rough with rubble, graffiti, trash and closed up buildings and parks everywhere we looked.
