Ballarat Cottages

My Husband and I overall LOVED staying at ‘The House’. The house was beautifully presented with lots of dedicated spaces for relaxing. Everything was very clean. Plenty of split systems and fans to keep air circulation. There was a log fire available but we were there on a warm-ish weekend so didn’t need to utilise this but I imagine it would be great in the middle of winter! The bedrooms were great sized..my husband found the beds very comfortable. I did too however I do prefer a firmer mattress and more firmer pillows for support but it was only a very small, minor issue. The fully equipped kitchen was a great addition and made a nice ‘home cooked’ breakfast easy and accessible. The selection of books to read was also a great plus for me. I found a book and used the sitting room space to have a good read and it was lovely. The location to being only a few mins drive into town was also fantastic and made everything very easy to get too. Overall we had a wonderful time and we will definitely be back to stay here for future Ballarat trips.

The water in the shower and the spa bath sort of had a kind of stale-ish type smell to it…I’m not quite sure how to describe it but it just had a kind of funky smell about it. It could have been because it’s possibly tank water and we’re not used to it. It’s not something that put me off the property at all but it was a noticeable smell when first walking into the bathroom and turning on the water. Also, the spa bath jets was broken and the water also felt a little strong on chlorine so didn’t use again after the first time. The couches in the TV area are a little low and unsupportive for our liking..maybe not for everyone but we struggles to get up off them due to them being so low and not as supportive. The chairs in the other living room were much better when it came to support.

It was clean! And homely and quaint It has beautiful gardens and overall was a great way to finish our road trip! My sons loved the house and that says something for tween/teen boys 🙂

The only fault was the bathroom had an off smell ?the drains

Lovely bushy, quiet location. They had provided 2 luggage stands which was a real bonus!!
