"Great stay in Swanage"

9.0

The apartment was spacious and felt very homely, a spacious living room with an open fire, an excellent sized bedroom with plenty of storage, the large kitchen was well equipped with everything you need and a stable door to a courtyard. The heating and hot water weee good and the WiFi worked well. The flat is 150 yds uphill from the town and well placed for the beach, shops, pubs etc. We had no issues parking in the street.

The only thing missing is a shower rail, £10 from Amazon and would make morning routine so much easier and would stop the floor from flooding. Having to leave at 9am was tough, we appreciate you need to prepare for the next guest, but an extra hour or two would be easier.

"Wonderful place to stay, but would need a few tweaks to make me choose to stay there again."

7.0

Location good, near town, country park and beach. I know Swanage very well and Park Road is a good central place to stay. Decor very calm and appropriate, the house was just lovely with lots of light and sash windows that allowed air flow. Kitchen was great, had all we needed and having access to the little space outside was good. Constant hot water was a plus too. Good for a couple just needing a base whilst exploring.

Parking was very difficult in the actual road and ended up paying £10 per day in the car park due to lack of space. Also be warned the road is very steep! No shower in the property, just a hand held this was disappointing as a bath just isn't as quick or good when you want to get out in the morning and there is more than one of you. I would expect a working electric shower in rentals these days. Sofas were practical but not very comfy for sitting long periods in the evening. Would have appreciated a choice of duvet as we were roasting in what seemed to be a winter tog one, although I appreciate the weather in May is probably not always quite so warm. I think the mattress may need a topper? There seemed to be a bar that ran the length of the bed and it meant the mattress dipped either side and felt like it was sloping.
