The location was amazing the view exceptional It was super clean facilities were great a really lovely place.

The air conditioning didn’t work and for older guests the stairs could be a little challenging. Please let other guests know it’s quite a long walk with luggage from the train station.👍🏻

Traffic can be noisy - but can close the double glazed windows and it’s good as not on same side as the view.

The apartment (Barnyhouse 20) was very clean with a beautiful view over Lake Como from the bedroom window, perfect for two people. It had everything we needed (except coffee pods), including a great new washing machine, comfortable bed, walking access to restaurants and the gorgeous waterfront. Communication before check-in was excellent via WhatsApp, with clear instructions for apartment access and luggage storage before 3pm.

Small issue, but frustrating. On arrival the coffee pod box was empty. Compared to other apartments we’ve stayed in across Italy, the kitchen supplies were quite limited. When I asked the host manager for a few pods, I was told, “I will ask the owner,” then later, “I will send a reminder,” but nothing was ever provided. Varenna has limited grocery options, so it would have been helpful to receive a recommendation on where to buy supplies. More importantly, if a coffee pod machine is provided, a few starter pods should be included. We enjoyed getting coffee out, but it would have been nice to start the morning with one in the apartment as well.

Could not fault Varennahouse. Slap bang in the middle of Varenna. Spotless clean. Everything you could possibly need in the apartment. Brilliant instructions on how to enter etc. We had a car and Vittorio had a car space as well
